BLC 1 week over.

OMG!! I have made it one week on this challenge without going back to bad habits. I have lost 3 pounds and feeling great about myself. I am even beginning to like working out. I know I haven't been able to get the points that I should have gotten, but that only because it hard for me to get on in time before its another day. Oh well, I am trying to keep at this challenge though. So yay me and yay to the best team ever : FAT SMASHERS.

My numbers keep fluctuating. I don't want to get bent out of shape about, but it hard not to. Knowing that you doing the right things or at least trying to do the right thing, it just not showing on the scale. Yea I know you not suppose to weigh everyday, but again I can't help it. I am so glad to have the BLC challenge though, because at least that keeping me focus. Just like when I was in nursing school and we did a lifestyle change, I manage to take it serious and actually loss 20 in 6 weeks. I did however, gain it all back when it was over though. This time after this challenge is over, I am determined more than ever to continue losing weight. I am determined not to be the big or fat girl anymore. I am determined to not to wear plus size clothing. I am determined to be more confident and less shy. I am determined to be more outgoing. I am determined to find someone worth my time. I am just determined to be a healthier person.

    Jumping on a scale on a daily basis can be hard on the moral. You feel like since it's not moving that you're not going anywhere. I use to think that way but manage to slowly change my view on the scale and I see it more has a friend who will guide me. I weigh myself everyday and if it goes up or down I always analyze what I did the day before and what got it to move. If you want to keep weighing everyday, choose a day of the week to count only and make it the same one every week. That is how you will see your progress

I am going back to work finally, after having my son. I am a nurse and work the 3-11 shift. Usually I don't get to take my lunch break until 9 at night and by that time I am less active than I was at the beginning of my shift. Since I been on leave I have gotten used to not eating after 9 if I can try. Another thing that worries me is what can I eat. I know I can take my lunch to work, but I dont want to fall back into old habits. My job is surrounded by fast food restaurants and I dont want to fall for the temptation. Especially when I see my co-workers indulging in something I would rather be eating than what I brought from home. I really need to have willpower, just hope I can. Dont want to give in and then stop dieting all together like I done in the past.

    Congratulations on your baby! It must be so tough to go back to work.

A month or so ago I posted a blog entry about staying on course and not going back to my old ways........This is what my Spark friend, Tedybear2838, wrote in response:

"Basically it's a choice. Only WE can make that choice. Make choices .. CONSCIOUS choices. Too many times we let ourselves make MINDLESS choices, about food (we stop measuring); exercise (We cut corners, when we KNOW we are capable of more) other areas of our lives also.

Let's Promise to Make Wise Choices.

When you choose the behavior, you choose the consequences.

Ask yourself EVERY TIME.... do I really want to eat this... do I really need this... Can I walk a little further, exercise a little longer."

Almost every time I want to stop for fast food or mindlessly pop something in my mouth I think to myself that this is a choice......do I really want to eat it, do I really want to take the elevator when I could take the stairs, etc. It has really helped me and I hope it helps you too.

emoticon This is the second week of my diet since I became a member of Sparkpeople. I am actually enjoying exercising for the first time in my life. I am drinking more water and have given up my junk food habit. The only thing that is getting on my nerves is that all of this isn't helping me. I have been dieting for a whole month. I only lost 4 pounds. I am like wth (lol). Anyways, I am not going to give up. Hopefully, I will see the results soon if I keep it up. I am going to keep praying and building my confidence up. I am going to beat the battle of the bulge. lol.

    Baby steps, my dear. If anything, look at 4 pounds of food and imagine that being slapped against your body. That is extra junk you don't have to carry around anymore! Pat yourself on the back!

    You will see results!! Sometimes it just takes longer to kick in!! I am coming up on my 1 month anniversary on Spark, and I too have only lost 4lbs. It got me down at first, but then I realized, losing 4lbs is a great accomplishment!! I started tracking my food better and watching my portion control. I also had to sit back and look at the other positives my new lifestyle is doing for me--like my confidence in myself is rising, I am hitting my small goals and celebrating them. I am enjoying walking and going to the gym, something I have never even liked!! You can do this, just stick to your goals and celebrate every small accomplishment! Remember, you are so worth it!!! emoticon

    Just remember that you are now 4 pounds lighter then you were before.. Don't let it discourage you. See it as a victory that you are now that much closer to your goal. Keep it up and you will more and more results.
