Play Ball!

Thursday, August 18, 2011

I have to admit that I am starting to get scared that soon my summer time is coming to a very quick end! I love the easy living of summer and dread the start of the school year more than my kid does!

As of right now Odin has soccer practice 2 days a week, Fall baseball games 2 other days a week, and a game of each on the weekends and once school starts we have Martial arts three times a week as well as homework and fun time! Yuck. The icing on the cake is I have not settled on my house yet (Stupid Bank of America!!!!!) so all of the above mentioned activities including school are 30plus minutes away from where I am temporarily living!

I am going to have a conversation with my boss to see if the next few weeks before school starts (Sept 6) if I can work 7-4 so I can work out at 5a.m and get Odin to all of his games! You may think I am one of those crazy moms who signs up there kid up for everything, but I am not. See his Martial Arts is included in his afterschool day care that he goes to. And I only signed him up for Soccer because he wanted that, but the Coach asked us directly if Odin to play on his baseball team. One because he really likes Odin because (not to brag) he is a decent player and Two the coach barely has enough players to field a team. No way am I going to let a group of Under ten year olds forfeit and not get to play! So now he plays Fall baseball too! (Plus I LOVE LOVE LOVE Baseball!)

Throw homework into this mess of a schedule and you end up with one big headache! We can do it though! Odin and I are the type of people that need to be busy and crazy or we lose our minds! So even thought I am complaining I love it! Let’s just hope I stick to working out everyday too!

Week One of Chalean Extreme DONE!

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

I made it thru week one with only one minor little problem. I decided to do last night’s work out this morning, because I was DEAD tired after driving all day yesterday. I went to put it in and realized that Beach Body sent me two of one DVD and I was missing the Burn it Off and Recharge. Luckily I looked on the calendar and found that there is a DVD you can do in replace of this and I did that one instead.

I called Beach Body and they are shipping me the DVD that I am missing! I was really looking forward to the Recharge portion which is all stretching and I am in desperate need of a good stretch! I am happy that they are shipping it to me with little questions asked. I was on hold for a pretty long time and was thinking they were going to give me problems.

I am off to run with my friends with First Strides. We are now in our groups so there is a really nice “friend” feel to it. It is a beautiful night in the Lehigh Valley and I am very much looking forward to running with my friends!

Glad you're enjoying your new workouts!
And I'm envious of you having a group like first Strides. I can't find anything like that locally.

I may not be Super mom, but I will try!

Monday, August 15, 2011

So it is Monday all ready! Not bad, a friend of mine in a recent blog reminded me not to complain about having a good job to go to! And really after this weekend, it was a nice change to go to work!

Friday was a nice night. I did Burn Circuit 2 for the first time. This Circuit was less shoulders and more Biceps and Triceps, which I was very much thankful for! Then I made Vegan Burritos (VERY GOOD!) with homemade Vegan Sour Cream. It is made with Tofu and not cream! It was super good!

Saturday came and went! It was raining in the afternoon and evening which put a damper on my plans to see a movie under the stars with Odin at a local park. I did do Burn Interval and Ab Burner. Holy Cow, Burn Interval gets your heart rate UP! It was like 1-2 minutes cardio with 1-2 minutes light weight reps. that portion was 40 plus minutes so I was happy to see that Ab Burner was only 10 minutes.

Sunday, rained ALL DAY long! I mean down poured. I usually don’t mind running in the rain a bit but this was just too much. I stayed in and did the scheduled Burn Circuit 3 which was the hardest one so far for me. It had a ton of shoulders and back. I had a swimming injury on my right shoulder when I was young and I have not been real strong since.

This morning, I woke up extra early to get my run in that I missed yesterday and actually did it! There have been so many mornings that I plan on getting up early to exercise and don’t! So I was happy did. I sort of had to. I had to do my First Strides homework (running) at 5, be at work by 7, work to 4, drive an hour south to pick up Odin, and then drive an hour back for his soccer practice at 6. Sit there and wait then drive an hour home to do my Chalean Extreme work out tonight…. The busy life of an active mom!

Well, I got my run in and was half way to work and got a call from Matt who blew a tire on this way to the Airport, so I had to drive him to the airport and now will need to pick him up at the airport sometime tonight! Ugh and to make matters worse soccer is canceled due to rain, but I still have to go to meet with the team and get the schedule! So that means I have to sit around and wait for 3 hours after work.

It is what it is, I just hope I will have energy left to do my work out tonight! Wish me luck!

Breathing hard and making strides, Yeah this is Living!

Friday, August 12, 2011

I run a little competitive “Biggest Loser” challenge at my work and don’t get me wrong I love it and get very excited when people see results. But I have to admit that I get frustrated sometimes when people who let’s just say, eat like poop and don’t work out, don’t even take the steps, lose weight, while I eat the best healthy foods on earth and exercise daily and I stay the same or even gain! What is up with that!

I know that makes me sound like a petty, vain, jealous person and maybe I am. But sometimes it is just so hard to be encouraged by doing the “right” thing when so many people are doing the “wrong” thing and getting ahead!

I have to remind myself everyday that I am doing everything right and when I don’t, I know exactly what it is I did wrong, and in time I will be a very healthy fit women. THEN I remind myself that I am all ready a healthy fit women! And I am losing weight and seeing results. I can do over 30 pushups! 9 months ago I could only do 5! That is results.

I can run and run fast! Two years ago the only place I ran was to my car if I was out of cigarettes! Now I my hands are free and my lungs are proud!

Even as little as 12 days ago, I could not even think about getting thru a day without a cup of coffee. Now I am coffee and caffeine free and start my day with fresh fruit and a glass of water.

I have a ton of little milestones that I have crossed over the past two years that I forget sometimes when I step on the scale! So this is just a self reminder that I am on the correct path and am making great strides for me and my family!

Last night’s run was as good as I thought it was going to be! Happy weekend everyone!

This is great Trish... and I definitely look to you as an inspiration with fitness! And a lot of people from the BL game at work will not maintain... it has to be a lifestyle... and for you and I it has become that yay!

I am liking what I am feeling!

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I feel so incredible after yesterdays work out! If you’re not familiar with Chalean Extreme, she is into slow movements for better results. Let me tell you…. Slow gets you to failure faster! I can do 25-30 pushups at a normal pace without stopping. Push Ups the Extreme way, I struggled after 10!

Long story short, I feel awesome!!!!! Today I am getting my hair done after work so my run will not be till like 9 p.m. I am okay with that! I have not had my hair done since umm maybe March! It is much needed!

My run tonight I know all ready is going to be a good one! I am hoping to go about a quarter a mile father then I did last week! I am hoping my son will join me on tonight’s run! Here is to hoping right!
