rule 1:drink a large glass of water before every meal-no excuses

rule 2:dont drink ur calories

rule 3;eat protein at every meal-or stay hungry and grouchy

rule 4: slash ur intake of refined flours and grains

rule 5:eat 30-50 grams of fiber a day

rule 6:eat apples and berries every single day.EVERY.SINGLE.DAY

rule 7: no carbs after lunch (thats going be super hard)

rule 8;learn to read food labels so u know what u are eating

rule 9;stop quessing about portion size and get it right-4 good

rule10;no more added sweetners,including artificial ones(ok bobs killing me lol)

rule 11;get rid of white potatoes

rule 12;make one day a week meatless

rule 13;get rid of fast food and fried foods(my weakness)

rule 14; eat a real breakfast

rule 15;make ur own food and eat at least ten meals at home a week

rule 16;banish high salt food

rule 17;eat ur vegetables-just do it

rule 18;go to bed hungry (i dnt like this)

rule 19; sleep right

rule 20; plan 1 splurge meal a week

    This is all "good science" except the "go to bed hungry" one. That's just stupid. Maybe, "don't eat within 2 hours of bedtime", but that's not the same thing.

The "no carbs after lunch" is a great rule, tough though it is. It'll put you deep into "fat-burning mode" and you'll continue to burn stored fat while you sleep. And when you get up you'll be properly ravenous, and have no problem eating a solid breakfast!

    So I have to ask, NO carbs after lunch?? So no fruit or vegis? Just about everything has carbs, so unless I'm just having some meat and dairy for dinner and afternoon snack, how is this possible?
Love the list though. several new things for me to try. :)

    Thanks for listing the rules! I glanced at the book in the store, but didn't buy it. I do own his other book called "Are you ready!" though, and loved it! That's the book that jump started my weightloss!!!! Thank you Bob! And just to comment on Debbieday's post....YES Bob is easy to look at! What a hottie! lol. emoticon

I have the book and though most of it is what we have heard before and knows works...'the rules' make sense to me and I'm starting to implement them ....I'm sure once I'm consistently following them my weight will show it!

All-Team Mental Challenge - Week 5 MANIFEST CHANGE

the change i made this week was trying a different workout i got my sparkpeople exercise dvd that i won off the daily spin called cardio blast and it has 6 different 10 min exercises so i tried to do a different one each day
