2010 Goals/Bucket List:

1. Run the Shamrock Shuffle (March 14th, 2010)

2. Complete the Delavan Triathon (June 6th, 2010)

3. Finish the Chicago Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon (August 1st, 2010)

4. Start guitar lessons.

5. Buy my first bikini!!

6. Lose 50 pounds!

7. Take a vacation to someplace warm!

8. Get a 4.0 in the spring semester of school.

9. Get a summer internship.

10. Pay off some of my debt.

    I'll say it again...we are som sililar in very many ways. I start back to class tomorrow, I want to lose 50-60 pounds, I want to run March for Babies in April, walk the Avon Breast Cancer 2 Day walk in June, walk the SGK 3 Day walk in August and pay bills...can't even think about any vacations...well of course, my only place I ever get to go is WI when my nephew gets married, I need a job by April and I want to learn to play guitar and speak we are almost the same weight!!! So how tall are you? emoticon

Reverting Back to Old Ways

Well- I had a horrible weekend. Family woes, work stress, and everything else rolled into a ball. Emotional eating ruled my weekend. Pizza, chips, ice cream... it all went into my body. Who knows where it stayed.

Not only do I feel horrible psychologically, but I feel so extremely sluggish! Tomorrow is a new day and I get to start over. I guess forgeting the past weekend is the way to go, but I am afraid that once I start with emotional eating that I won't be able to stop. Then, I will just feel so extremely guilty. I am not sure where to go or what to do.

The plan is to workout in the morning, go to school, go to work and just start over. Yup, starting fresh. Yup, ugh I need to go to sleep.

Sweatin' to TurboJam!!

I bought Turbo Jam about 3 months ago and only did one work out. I did the learn and burn and then just stopped doing it. I am not sure why I stopped- I mean I actually really liked the workout, but just was too embarassed to be jumping around in my living room.

Well, I totally changed my mind today. Jumping around in my living room is the best workout I have had in months. I did the 20 minute workout and am sweating the same amount as I did yesterday after my 2.5 mile run. I am amazed. Yes, I was a skeptic, but this workout was fun. I didn't even know that I was working out! I started the workout and next thing I know, I was done! It didn't even feel like working out to me.

I guess I am just totally amazed that I had this amazing workout tool in my DVD cabinet and just pulled it out because it is -5 degrees and didn't want to go to the gym. Today was a good day!!!!

  I also feel strange working out in my living room but you know, it's not so embarrassing as working out at a gym with everyone else watching. ROFLOL. It's -30 here today, I live in Northern Canada so I know the feeling of it being too cold to run outside only in my case it's walking outside. Have a great weekend.

    Cool! I might have to check that one out myself! There is too much ice and snow on the ground for me to run so I have been running and jumping around the house this morning. Can't do that for too long... BORING!!!! Not to mention kind of weird. :)

I can't believe how good you are doing post-surgery. Good for you!!! Keep it up. You are inspiring me to get off my butt and get moving again even though I am out of my usual routine at home. Thanks!

First workout back!

So today was my first workout after my surgery on the 21st. I ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill non-stop. I was pretty proud of that considering I have been laid up for 9 days. Now, I just have to keep at it. I am still in some pain, but I can't just lay around anymore. It was making me stir crazy. Granted, I did get to watch some really good movies.

But, it is the New Year, and I can't just sit around hoping that this weight will come off. I have to take a pro-active approach. I have been a member of Spark for quite awhile. When I first signed up, I weigh somewhere around 160, and then in the two years following, I gained 30 pounds!! But, since August 2009, I have lost the weight. I have finally utilized all of Spark's resources and made some amazingly supportive friends that my weight is going in the right direction.

I have a good feeling about 2010 and I am excited to get started! Thank you to everyone for your continued support throughout my journey. I can't thank you enough!!

    Good job. I have been off the ocmputer for awhile, my router died. I was hoping to get started jogging and such yesterday, but I wrentched my knee slipping on the ice on my drive the other day. It is already getting better, but may have to start next Monday. Actually, I am going to try to do some things at Rec center, but take it slowly. Maybe even by tomorrow it will even be better.

Kicking Butt in 2010!

I wanted to recrod a video blog, but the audio wouldn't work. I recorded the whole thing, watched it back and laughed because I was so animated with no sound!

Anywhos, I wanted to put my 2010 goals into writing so I am accountable to myself and also my Spark Family. Plus for one of my team challenges, the number of comments I get ='s the number of minutes we do in the gym or workout activity, so I want it to be a high number!!

So anywhos here are my goals:

1. Starting weight of 2010: 170, Goal weight: 125
I would like to lose 50 pounds this year. I would like to lose that weight by July 1st, or the end of the 50 pound challenge!

2. Cardio workout (at least 30 mins) 5 times a week.

3. Strength training 2 x's a week

4. I would like to run the Shamrock Shuffle (10k) in Madison on March 14th, 2010. I have a running schedule all planned out and I am going to follow that.

5. Time management! This means planning out when I am going to workout, my meals, and also homework and other things.

    I also have a VERY detailed schedule...right down to when I eat, sleep, workout, do schoolwork, and fmaily time. I have yet to fully use this schedule though:( I would love to run a 5k but my knees just cannot take the running. You said you need to schedule time for homework...what are you studying?? I am almost finished with my Associate's in Psychology. I wish you all the best in 2010...that's! Have a safe and happy new year!!
