There is inside you
all of the potential
to be whatever you want to be,
all of the energy
to do whatever you want to do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
doing what you want to do,
and each day, take one step
towards your dream.
And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
hold on to your dream.
One morning you will awake to find
that you are the person you dreamed of,
doing what you wanted to do,
simply because you had the courage
to believe in your potential
and to hold on to your dream.

I'll have sme brie with my wine please...
Talk about being stressed out. I am so glad that test is behind me. The next step to this NMLS licensing required for all Mortgage Loan Officers is I get the pleasure of taking my next online course, which is State Law. I don't have time to take 2 days out of my life to spend 10 hours each day in a class room so I will take the online course. I also figure that if i do not know the State Banking Regs by now after being in this business for 25+ years, then I need to hang it up. I am hoping this one will be so much easier.
I have talked about how bad my memory has gotten and this is what was stressing me out. Couple that with the fact that I haven't had to take a test since 1977 in College. I should probably say 1973 because I had to take the College Entrance Boards, not the SAT's, those I took in high school. I can't take a Board Test. Let me tell you what happen with my College Boards.
One of the Boards I had to take was in French. I don't know how this happened but I scored 800, which is a perfect score. Trust me I did not know 800 points worth of French. I had to make an appointment with the Dean of the College because due to my 800 score they threw me into a Junior Year French Class. Junior Year French meant I was required to read novels in French and discuss them in French. It was way over my head. The Dean told me that unfortunately there was nothing he could do because I had scored a perfect score. Needless to say I struggled through the entire course and it actually turned me off to french, which was a shame.
Now here comes these Board tests and I start freaking out, not knowing what was going to happen. The course it self was not too bad and I could do it as I could fit into my schedule as long as I completed the 20 hours in 10 days. I did not have a teacher in front of the class like the others did, just the printed material on a computer screen. The fact that I have been in the business so long is the only reason I took the chance to go this route, if I had, had no clue to the material I would have gone the instructor route.
This test centered a lot on the ethics of the business besides the Regulations and the workings of the mortgage industry and process. It amused me that before I took the test the only thing I could bring in was my photo ID and the key to the locker they gave me to put my pocketbook and rain coat. I even had to take off my watch and lock it up. How can a watch help me in a room to "cheat"? I was sent in to see a proctor who again checked my photo ID and then I was asked to turn my pockets inside out. You read that right. then I was asked what about the back pockets? I said I did not have any. i got a look and was asked to turn around. I lifted up my blouse because it covered my butt to show her, no pockets. Can you imagine?
They had a camera on every single cubicle inside the glass enclosed testing room. We were told to put our photo ID and locker key on the left corner of the desk. The computer to take the test was in the middle and on the right was the calculator they gave us that we could use to calculate LTV's and PITI's for mortgage applications. We had a camera on each of us, a glass window they watched us through the entire time, plus they came in and walked around periodically. The room was maybe 20 x 20 if that. Were they thinking we were spies giving away secret documents or something? It was ridiculous.
You know me, always outspoken. I had to say something afterwards. I am sitting there at the proctors desk after the test ( we got our results right away since it was a computerized test) and I just had to ask why all of the security. I said aren't we all adults here? Isn't the purpose of the test based on ethics? We both just laughed.
Tonight I hope to sleep like a baby. Last night I could not sleep at all worrying about the test. Now on to the next worries. I still have not finished my tax returns yet. I need to sign up for the State Law course and take it. It never ends! But the worse is over. I at least know my emory is not as bad as I thought it was.

No one can know the potential,
Of a life that is committed to win;
With courage - the challenge it faces,
To achieve great success in the end!
So, explore the Dimension of Greatness,
And believe that the world CAN be won;
By a mind that is fully committed,
KNOWING the task can be done!
Your world has no place for the skeptic,
No room for the DOUBTER to stand;
To weaken your firm resolution
That you CAN EXCEL in this land!
We must have VISION TO SEE our potential,
And FAITH TO BELIEVE that we can;
Then COURAGE TO ACT with conviction,
To become what GOD MEANT us to be!
So, possess the strength and the courage,
To conquer WHATEVER you choose;
It's the person WHO NEVER GETS STARTED,
That is destined FOREVER to lose!

Believe in yourself -
in the power you have
to control your own life, day by day,
Believe in the strength
that you have deep inside,
and your faith will help
show you the way.
Believe in tomorrow
and what it will bring -
let a hopeful heart carry you through,
For the things will work out
if you trust and believe
there's no limit
to what you can do.

I was watching the news the other night and they profiled 2 different people that had been robbed due to information that had been obtained from Facebook. The info given was quite innocent on the victim’s parts. They simply told their “Friends” what their plans were for the night. Quite innocent, right? Wrong to the criminal element is was an open invitation that said “rob me.” If I remember correctly the guy profiled mentioned he was going camping for the weekend and the woman was I think going to a Broadway play, movie, or something along those lines. She was just out for the night and she was robbed, they were in and out in such a short time.
Millions of people signing up to Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites need to be reminded these are public sites. I love Spark People but please remember this is a public online social network. Anyone can gather ANY information you put on your blogs, Spark Page, comments you make etc. Do not post personal details such as birth dates, addresses and phone numbers on the sites. You are just handing the criminals carte blanche to do what ever they can accomplish from what they “harvest” from your site.
Experian and Equifax, the credit information companies, has warned people to restrict the personal information they posted online. "Your date of birth and name of your first school may seem like innocuous bits of information, but they are the building blocks to your identity," said James Jones of Experian. Trust me I am so up on this stuff because of what happened to me with my identity theft. I do not think mine was due to Spark People.
Monster.com had a huge breach relating to the personal details of hundreds of thousands of jobseekers have been stolen after online hackers broke into their recruitment website. I have read horror stories where people apply for these jobs to work from home with. They give these “supposed” employers their information including Social Security numbers and bank account info so that their checks can be direct deposited into their accounts. So now the criminals can wipe out your bank account and charge your credit up the wazoo.
Never share ahead of time with your buddies about the exact dates of an upcoming vacation or even a weekend getaway. I have got to stop making references when I am down visiting my Mom in Virginia. I will now blog about it when I return home. It is an open invitation to would be robbers letting them know your house is vacant. An option would be is when you return let your Spark Buddies know why you have been MIA after the fact, not before.
I am not saying let’s make a mass exodus from Spark People. I love Spark People and intend on being here for quite some time. I am saying be careful. Be careful of what you post. If your entire name is on your Site including your call name, remove it. I have read Spark Pages where they list an outside email and the email address is their first and last name at Yahoo.com, gmail, hotmail, etc. If your entire date of birth is on the site, remove it. I have even seen people’s street address on their Spark Page, remove it. Stop broadcasting vacations, nights out on the town, going to the doctor’s, etc. Blog or post about it after the fact. Just be careful. There are bad elements out there. Don’t hand the keys to your house or credit.
