New Year still on Stride

So, I have had many changes this past year. My husband left his job of 14 years and started at a completely different company, we moved to another state (which after 5 months I am still not feeling the people or place), we left the oldest child behind in to finish school, the youngest has made some heart racing decisions which has left us with many ups-and-downs, and not only am I starting a new job in the new location I am still commuting once a month to the old location. Can you say STRESS? The good news I have stayed in my 5lb range during the entire situation, continued to go to the gym as much as I could muster, and am back on plan to lose my 50lbs for this year. I tried to lose 50lbs last year and fell short by 10lbs so now I have 60lbs in a year to master and this is DO-ABLE. The wonderful conclusion I came to was "I kept it off for a year so maybe I learned something this time around".

Ok, so school, work, holidays, and vacation. No not an excuse just reality I didn't get to the gym like I should have and yes the food that touched my mouth was sinful; but oh so good. Only gained 5lbs in a month not terrible so I am happy with this I didn't set myself back as bad as I thought I did; yea me! Went to the gym yesterday and feeling the pain today in my upper body thanks to weights. Another, yea for me moment! Get back on those treadmills girls because we are back and in full force.

I've been out of the gym for a week now and everytime I go regardless if I am religious about it or not I still hate it! I am looking forward to a few weeks from now when one of the staff members at the rec center will be training me on weights. I know how to use the machines but I know I don't push myself hard enough. I have my cardio pretty much under control weights are my down fall. The upside is I am incorporating positive things into my life. I am eating better, drinking more liquids, and getting to the gym more now then I ever have so I have been able to maintain my weight loss in the give or take 5lb range. So, I definitely am making a difference in my goals and lifestyle change. Now, I have to get back on the loser wagon and get another 25lbs off of me and that will put me half way to goal.
Everyone keep plugging away. If I can get my butt to the gym so can you.

    It's tough to nail ALL the areas in which we want to improve ALL of the time. Thing is you're doing MOST of what you want to do to keep moving in the right direction and you keep challenging yourself...WAY TO GO!! :-)

Stressed Out!

Well I've decided to go back to school. I'm only taking 1 class this semester, statistics, but I haven't been in school for over 10 yrs and haven't taken math in over 14 yrs. This on top of hubby being out of town every other week, working at the hospital, and staying on top of my exercises with trying to keep my healthy goal in site; I'm very worried. I know the first thing that will go will be the exercise and eating. That is one thing I don't want to put to the side. I'm going to have to pull my big girl britches on and suck it up.     Taking care of yourself HAS to be #1!!

If you let your health and wellness go, everything else you strive to do will suffer too!

Besides, when one is focused on taking charge of one's health and wellness it spurs such energy by keeping YOURSELF in the driver's seat, instead of everything else!

    Your life sounds a lot like mine. I've been doing great for the past 3 weeks, but fall semester starts soon, and between school, working full time, raising 3 kids and 3 dogs, I'm really worried I'll run out of time for working out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. We can do this!!

    Of course I wish you luck, but more than that, I don't believe you need luck, I think you can do it.. in fact, I know you can.
I'm going back to school, too. The one thing I know about school is, there are so many people working on themselves there.. people are really proactive about their health. You can totally do this :)
