Had a "fall into winter"

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

actually onto the floor.. tonight as I was going to sit on my desk chair to put my shoes on.. the seat (which is broken and missing a screw) was twisted cock-eyed off the base and down on the floor I went.. it took 3 tries .. me hoisting my 450+ self onto my knees finally using my upper body strength, I was able to get back on my feet..

Here at the hospital we have a "lift team" which gets people who are heavy or just dead weight off the floor if the fall or if they need help getting onto a stretcher to go to a test.. coulda used them at my house tonight.. of course I broke out into a sweat and I am sure the knees will be screaming tomorrow.. what better a reason to stay on spark and keep on slimming!

Oh no, I am sorry to hear that! I have fallen a couple times recently - once I tripped while running, and then just the other night I slipped on some ice on th sidewalk. I'm so clumsy! A coworker of mine fell twice during the fall and has been out of work rehabbing herself ever since.
Tracy, have you seen the TV show "Ruby"? I just watched it on DVD and what you wrote reminded me of the show. In one episode Ruby goes camping and her friends are worried about how she will get herself to stand up after sleeping on the ground but she has lost enough weight by then that she can do it by herself. I found it pretty inspiring...you might like it.

Boy, do I feel for you, Tracy! I dread having to get up off the floor, too. It's all the more compelling motivation for us to keep on a-sparkin'! (I keep looking at those kittens in your background. They look all blissed out! emoticon- Susan

So sorry that you fell down, but you were able to get back up! That is so freeing! I fell in my kitchen a couple of days ago (some melted snow) and the second thing that went through my mind (the first was ouch!) was that it sure didn't hurt as badly as it did 50 pounds ago! Not that I like falling, but these are non-scale rewards too! emoticon

Merry Christmas!

I'm so sorry that you fell Tracy. I hope that you'll be okay tomorrow. I know how it is and how badly I hurt when I fall. I tell you, that is my biggest fear. I love you my friend. YOU DID IT! You got up without help! Love, Dawn

Sheesh just whenI thought it was safe...

Monday, December 21, 2009

....those of you who remember... my crazy ex-roommate who I spoke about is moving in next door... Help me God please that I don't go strangle her.. the last thing we recently found was that she put chewed gum on the headboard of the bed in the room she stayed in... she is a 40+ yr old ... whats up with that?

*I own a mobile home and my neighbor is well aware of her shenanigans but is desperate for $$.. I wished her luck and reminded her that she was not to bring her to my house as she disrespected it.. and yes locks were changed that day she moved out

I don't blame you, Tracy. When you are in the confines of your own home it should be a haven of peace and rest. Sounds like you didn't have that w/ that room mate. Be firm and hold your ground. Don't allow her to upset you. Those who upset you control you. Don't allow her that control. Be happy. We are all here for you. Have a great day!!

Oh my Lord. Of all places she had to move! I hope the neighbor realizes they'll STILL be desperate for money as I'm sure that she will not be responsible enough to pay on time. I can't imagine a 40 year old woman who sticks gum on a headboard being uber responsible with money and deadlines!

WILLOW49 12/22/2009 6:12AM

40 years old? Sounds like something a 5 year old would do! I hope you're able to keep her at arm's length. Good to tell your friend that she (40 year old) is no longer welcome in your home! Good that you have changed your locks!

Gum on the headboard, geez, is she not all there in the head? My high school kids do that to there desks and then are grossed out by how it looks when I make them clean it off. Gross! Be grateful she is gone from your house and just ignore her.

Just be glad it is next store and not back into your apartment. Are you uncomfortable about her being so close? I think I can understand that. Hope she keeps her distance my friend! Otherwise...strangle her! You did change the locks when she moved didn't you???? If not..now might be a good time to do that. Good luck Tracy!!!

the snow was crazy here also. it snowed all day saturday and into the night. horrible getting to work today. a lot of people called out. Philadelphia schools were closed others had a late opening. it is very beautiful, but not so much when you have to go out into. temps are below freezing this week, so it will be around for a while.
