    Try to plan ahead for future days like this because we all have them. I cook up large batches on the weekend of curries or grain salads to have on hand for the week or even put some up in the refrigerator. I will chop up veggies for stirfrys during the week. A little planning goes a long way to help us stay on track.

    Never say never. Say maybe one day, I WILL get married. Then again, I was married twice and both were disasters. Don't know if I want to take that route again. I have contentment living w/ my two cats and my friend. We are sisters in the faith and get along good. With a friend you can go to the movies, the beach, shopping ~all girlie things that guys don't like all that much. All the best to you both!

Making the weight loss count...

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I was telling another friend about my plan .. for every pound I get rid of, release or lose I am giving 5 pounds of food to the food bank. There are so many less fortunate people out there who can really use it and I feel that if I just do this little thing and get some other friends on board, we can feed a lot of hungry people. Even if you can only give pound for pound of weight that is something. I was going to do this for just the holidays but I plan on doing it through the winter and even further.. this time of year especially, churches who have pantries that serve the hungry are also in need so ask around and I am sure you will find somewhere that can use it. And if you earn that turkey but can not use it-- get it and donate it, it will make somebody's holiday table extra special if they can serve a whole meal. Use this link an search by zip code for your local food bank in the USA feedingamerica.org/default.aspx?show
_shov=1/
Let's keep people fed!

You can also purchase cards at $35 for 5 cards and send them as Christmas cards that states a donation was made by the purchase of the card

Again, what a wonderful idea. I hope that lots and lots of others join in!

Ex- roommate has found a new place

Monday, November 09, 2009

Tonight is her last night at my place..but she only returned 1 house key and I gave her 2.. Home Depot here I come.. She had the nerve to ask for "money back on her unused days" after she lived with us over 2 months and never contributed to the groceries and made me have a $110 overage in water for 1 month! I deducted 20 for damage she did to my abthroom sink drom her curling iron and acetone.. she should not have gotten any $ back but I felt sorry for her... this is the icing on the cake though she asked my daughter if she could do her nails...My daughter is going to be busy cleaning up after her for weeks..plus she can go to a salon with her $$ and have them done..Some people.

Now I can breathe

  Yeah, it's a bummer you "paid her off" or whatever, but I'd consider it just a down-payment on piece of mind, getting her out with minimal drama, and at least now you can breathe easy and relax a bit.
Surely this deduction of stress in your life will show on the scale!

    It's really hard to find compatible people to live with. Before Norma moved in I noticed that she kept a clean apartment downstairs from me. She wasn't lazy and she went to work everyday. We are the same faith, so that helped too. Being Christian women, we treat one another w/ respect and obey Bible principles. Her son moved from her apt and my daughters moved out so it was the perfect opportunity when it came to sharing expenses. That was 13 yrs ago and we are still roomies, but more so SISTERS!

    You were too gracious, I think. I would have told her that she'd be eligible for a refund once she returned the second key... and once the place was cleaned out. On the other hand, giving her the money got her out of your home.

Hope you have a fantastic day!
