I am in the mood to rant. This is your warning. Read at your own risk.
Holidays? Why do we have so many holidays that involve food in one way or another? Thanksgiving. Christmas. I usually eat for New Year's day. Birthday. Valentine's day. Easter. Halloween. I work in a drug store. I get to see holiday candy go on sale a lot around this time. How can you say "no" when the candy is 75% off and you have to look at it all day?

There was a battle today.
I went to a birthday party and drank 2 bottles of water.
Who won? The bathroom and the desserts.
I had lots of fun but I sure blew the diet out of the water. Then I kept going to the bathroom to get rid of the other water.
The worst part? My birthday is in a few days. So, I suspect that I will blow the diet a few more days.
How does one celebrate a birthday which usually involves eating cake as the main activity and not blow a 1200-1600 calorie diet? emoticon emoticon

Can you tell that I like to eat?
I had taco salad tonight. I went over my calorie count goal by a little bit. I am still hungry but I am not sure what to do with that especially since I have a birthday party to attend tonight.
Then my birthday is in a few days too. I don't know if I can keep my calorie even close to my calorie goal. I am so not used to trying to limit my calories.

left overs

Since I have started this, I have been creating more left overs. I am eating the left over half a pizza for breakfast.
I suspect that I will be spending less money at the store and wondering around the produce department more tomorrow. Wee! If I can save money by doing this, that would be icing on the cake if you ask me.

    You will eat less of some things. Do you know how long it takes me to finish a box of cereal when I measure compared to normal? Same with cheezits and those kind of snacks. They last a lot longer. But I tend to eat more fruit when I am counting calories, more salads, so what you save in things you eat less of, spend on some fruits and veggies. It is amazing how many carrots you can eat when you are hungry and have few calories left! Same with salad. When I have few calories for dinner, I first grab a salad. Even if it is prebagged and precut lettuce, it is great to have around when you need a low cal meal.

I was over again on my calorie count. If I had only eaten two slices of pizza instead of four, I would have made it. But, I was enjoying the pizza too much to let a diet ruin my fun.
I am wondering if I can find a lower calorie pizza as a substitute because I can't stand to live without pizza.
I also keep telling myself that I am below 2,000 calories which is recommended for a normal healthy person. So, I might at least lose a little weight in time.

    mmmm. Sounds good. I'm not big on cheese. I bet I could make a good pizza sauce myself. I might try something like that. emoticon

  I make my own personal 'pizzas' at home...they're tasty! I use a whole wheat pita for the crust, a basic marinara sauce, mushroom, red peppers, turkey sausage...whatever you like! Then top it was a little low fat mozzerella (about 1/4 cup). Bake it for 10 minutes or so...whenever the cheese is melted. WAY better for you than other pizzas and still settles my craving!!! Hope this helps!!! emoticon
