Trekking along

Trekking along with the 30 Day Shred started this past Sunday. It has now been 6 days even though I don't see any weight loss I can tell a little difference in some of my clothing. emoticon I guess it's the building of the muscles first then the decline in weight. Ok, I'll take that and run with it. Trying to stay focused on the outcome. With this said I have been staying within my calorie intake and drinking water constantly.

    Great job! Often when you first really increase exercise intensity, your muscles hold onto water to repair the microscopic injuries to them. The weight loss will follow, but I always prefer to see the loss of inches and the reshaping of my body over a decrease in pounds :-)

Motivation for today....Update

Last night I had already set in my mind that I was going to walk this morning. Well as I got dressed and began to check my facebook my cousin said good morning, my response good morning cuz. I sent her a private message to give her information on my mom's 65th birthday party but got no response to message but a chat sayiing I think I'm having a heartache and I can't breathe. So I proceeded to call her and both numbers were out of service and I'm like S***, I typed back and said trying to call what's your number. Got number and called her in talking to her she was damn there in tears but just wanted to lay down to calm her breathing. I begged her to call the emergency unit but she refused because she didn't want her kids to see her like that. I told her how would you like for your kids to see you "dead"? On top of that she's a cigarette smoker. I couldn't persuade her to go to the hospital and I'm praying that she is going to be ok. She explained she has been dealing with alot and is really stressed. From me to her, you have to take one day at a time because you can't solve your lifetime in one day. After speaking with her I knew exactly what I had to do get up and move.

Prayers to my cousin....

Update: I spoke with my cousin yesterday evening and she did end up calling the paramedics. Took all vitals and checked her breathing had something to do with what she ate but on top of that her blood pressure was really high. I hope now she realizes how important her health is going forward.

    Praise the Lord.....God put u on fb for a reason that morning...Thank God she is ok BUT tell her to get to a doctor and get that BP under control. She can start walking with u and quit smoking.

Putting behind 2011

So here I am once again with another year behind me. I was so out of control with keeping up with my dedication to becoming a healthier person I almost forgot about who was important. "ME" It's probably too early to pat myself on the back but it's been one week and I have stuck to no sodas, eating before 8pm, adding more fruits and vegetables to my day and started back walking. I never walked in the winter time always felt I would catch a cold but I got my but out there this weekend and it felt good. The 2 mile walk turned out to be the best thing I accomplished over the weekend. So my goal is to walk outside on the weekends and add in 3-4 days of 20-30 minutes on the treadmill during my lunch break. No need in continuing letting the gym go to waste. IT'S FREE... So on that note I have lost a total of 5 pounds from last week and looking forward to losing more.

Finally cooled down!

I was so happy it was cool enough for me to walk today. It has been really hot the past couple of weeks. Even though I only walked a mile today I am looking forward to walking much further tomorrow; another cool day supposedly.

Hey Everyone,

I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks let alone keep up with my routine. However today I did ok. I had my 8 glasses of water but didn't quite meet my calorie intake, came close though. No exercise today. It's that time of the month and I get these awful cramps in my stomach and aches in my thighs, so I just relaxed. I plan on doing better tomorrow.
