Ginger Grilled Salmon

Thursday, January 31, 2013

e-mail from bodybuilding.com

Ginger and salmon blend together perfectly. You'll enjoy the flavor almost as much as you will the health benefits! I didn't use any sweetener and don't see any reason for. It was delish!

Ingredients

■1 tsp Freshly Ground Ginger
■1 tsp minced Garlic
■1/3 cup Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce
■1/4 cup Orange Juice
■Stevia, to desired sweetness
■1/2 sliced Onion
■Three, 3.5 oz Salmon Filets
■Orange Rind

Directions

1.Combine ginger, garlic, soy sauce, orange juice, and Stevia in a bag.
2.Add the salmon and onions to the bag and let sit a few hours to marinate, flipping the bag after 1.5 hours.
3.Cook salmon on grill until it flakes easily with a fork.
4.While cooking, brush salmon with any excess marinade.
5.When done, sprinkle with orange rind and serve.

Snow, workout and new recipe

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

2.5 feet of snow called for all day plowing on the 29th. I got an inadvertent workout for my thighs getting in and out of the tractor.
Today was dentist day but I did get my workout in, upright rows were only 15 pounds but that's a start. 30 pound on reverse flys and the wimpy kind of pushups. Some other dumbbell work.

Hubbys new favorite lunch box item.

BEC

2 pieces of Daves Killer Bread lightly buttered on both sides
4 pieces of beef bacon fried crisp and chopped into 1 inch chunks
2 eggs fried broken yolks, salt & pepper
4 thin slices of Tillamook mild cheddar

Grill bread on one side, flip one and layer with two pieces of cheese, 2 eggs, bacon, and the other 2 pieces of cheese. Then I put the grilled side on the slice of bread on the top. Squish it a little with you turner and flip over to grill the other side of the top slice.

Yummy for the tummy! And great for your hard working guy.

Muscle Work

Monday, January 28, 2013

Today is my second day of strength training. I set up my body page on body building.com yesterday which was really time consuming but I think it will be worth it. I did all the one rep max tests and was surprised how good I did. My highest was the dead lift at 71 lbs. I woke this morning feeling great and did some more weight work. I love the feeling of sore muscles. I signed up for strength training work outs which begin tomorrow... I also went and bought more weights today that I can see I need already. Cardio, hate it, not interested and hope I can make my goals without it. Maybe when I get lighter I will feel like but not now.
