I'm so proud of myself today, you should be too!!!!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

I have really been slacking off. It started about a month ago when I had problems with my daughter, and her breaking up with her boyfriend just before prom, she was very upset, and it upset her school work, and work work, other daughter wanting to move, just lots of emotional stuff, too much to list, and I made up excuses not to stay on track.

At first it was just the workouts, but I was still maintaining good healthy eating habits. Than little by little the eating started to not be so healthy, A few things here and there, and I'd get on the scale the next day and not see a change so I'd say well Ok I didn't completely sabatog myself, but that would just give me an excuse to do it again the next day. Before I knew it, I was eating whatever.

That brings us to this weekend, well, Thursday of last week, totally overboard I went because my excuse was it was my birthday and I am going to eat whatever I want, and I did. First Beer, Potato chips, Cake, and I went to KFC, and ordered 2 snackers, fried, bread, dressing, I told myself I would only eat one, but I didn't, then that night, Macaroni salad, Potato salad, The whole weekend, I was out of control, I ate everything, cheeses, supprasatta, pepperoni, Hamburger with swiss cheese, hot dog, and the buns to go with them, then came the ice cream to go with it for dessert when I got home, and even cake with the ice cream.

In the mean time, all weekend everyone was telling me how good I looked, and that made me eat more thinking I haven't done anything for a month and I'm still getting compliments, but the clincher was my husband saying how proud of me he was because I've been really trying, I've been working out, and I look awesome.

I felt so guilty, he didn't know, because of his work schedule, that I had stopped everything. I thought about it all night, I can't believe I threw it all down the drain, what was I doing. So this morning, I got on this computer, logged onto this sight, and said to myself I'm goanna do it. I logged in my breakfast, and went to my fitness page and did my first workout in over a month. I feel so great.

The reason why I'm posting this blog is to just let everyone out there who gave up, or is thinking of giving up, because they haven't been following there plan, it's not to late, It's never too late to get healthy.

I'm back on track and I'm hoping to stay there. I have more motivation, because of everything everyone was saying to me and knowing I wasn't on track at all, to stay on track. And to finish what I started, and to stay healthy for the rest of my life.

You can do it, we all can do it, even if you fall off track sometimes it's never too late to get back and start running again, even if it's just little things, start with the eating, take a walk, It really feels wonderful.

I almost feel like I never stopped, I'm gonna feel it tomorrow, because of my workout today but I'm so proud of myself for getting back on track!!!!!

The one piece of advice I have is to do it for you, not for others, I thought I was doing it for my husband, and everyone around me that knew me when I was thin, but this morning I realized that I was jipping myself out of a healthy life, and That's just stupid!!!!!!

emoticon getting back on track. You should be super proud because sometimes one of the hardest things to do is stop the abuse cycle of eating what ever and not getting in some exercise. Trust me we have all been down that road before.

Help!!!! my motivation dissapeared.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

I don't know what's happening, I was doing so good for 5 weeks and then this week I have just been fighting with myself since Sunday, to workout. I'm trying to eat right still, I have been over my calories by a couple hundred 2 days in a row, today so far so good but I just can't get myself to get into working out. I did on Sunday but nothing today and nothing yesterday. What's wrong with me, I love the way I'm starting to look, but I just don't have any motivation to start my workout. Help!!!!! emoticon emoticon

Hey, I think maybe my motivation and yours must have went on a short vacation together (LOL) Make a deal with ya, I will start moving some each day if you will. You said you liked the difference you could see in yourself after only 5 weeks, let that motivate you. The thing I am using for motivation is an outfit I got at the end of summer, when I packed it away it fit......when I got it back out Sunday, it did not fit. So I know I got to get moving so I can wear it.

Toni, Sometimes it is hard to get going, but if you force
yourself to get on the exercise wagon again, it will come
easier.
I think all of us have run into a slump now and then.
You can do this....you are worth the efort...and you said
you can already see results............Great going!!!!

You guys are great, thank you soooo much for the pep talk and I like the look behind the couch and find it, that's soo funny. I feel a little better today I just finished breakfast and I'm gonna make myself get back on and ride today, if it kills me. I can't throw 5 weeks down the drain. I'm gonna do it. Thanks again everybody, I love this sight, if it weren't for all of you, I probably would have just given up. Time to get going, I'm gonna do it today, right now!!!!!! emoticon

I agree 100% with the other posts - you have to make yourself do SOMETHING. Lay on the floor on your back and move your legs in the air, pretend to jump rope, do squats while brushing your teeth, do a few wall push-ups, cut the grass, wash the outside of your house, go buy a new workout DVD - something you've never tried so it's a new adventure! Here or there, just do some stuff. Don't let the feeling that you must do some formal or structured x number of minute routine be a barrier - you can move by doing almost ANYTHING! Don't let too much time pass though because you don't want to fall back out of the "habit" of being fit. A break for a day or two now & then never hurt anyone as long as you don't make it an extended vacation! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Simply make yourself do something even if you don't "feel" like it. Go for a walk. Turn on some rock 'n rock and start moving...whether it's your usual workout or just dancing.I tell myself it's only for 10 minutes. I find that when I make myself get up and move, I have more desire to stay within my limits on the food plan, I usually end up doing more than just the 10 minutes, AND I feel better. If that doesn't work, start moving furniture around...your motivation has got to be somewhere! Did you look behind the sofa? LOL.(All kidding aside, you can do this! Don't give up!)

Accai berry is it really all they say it is?

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

I've been reading things about accai berry and I am wondering if anyone has tried it. They also say something about a cleanse. I'm really skeptical about it and I thought I'd ask if anyone here has tried it. The reason why I ask is when you read about it online, you know they are paid to say it's great(I think), and I just want feedback from real people like you.

I have not tried them but I've heard that many of the online sites are scams. I'd be careful when buying online. I would like to know if they work as well as the claims state they do.

Well I have heard the cleanse are not healthy for you because it gets rid of the good stuff your body needs. However, I have tried and like the Accai Berry chews you can get from the health store. I think they keep me regular and they have a sweet berry taste. Helps satisfy my swwet cravings and they are good for you. Those and the calcium chews.

What am I doing wrong?

Monday, April 05, 2010

I've been exercising everyday, I started alternating my workouts this week, upper body one day, lower body the next and abs on my lower body days and sometimes on my upper body days, When I was doing total body everyday, I was losing weight, but then I read that doing total body everyday isn't good your muscles have to rest so I started alternating. This week I gained a pound. What am I doing wrong. I'm actually eating (maybe one or two days) less than I should but not by allot. Yesterday I over did it, a little but that's only one day out of the week, it's just the day gets away from me sometimes. Could that be the problem? Help!!!! emoticon

I tend to agree with SECONDGUESSER...what works for one may not work for another. Another thought may be that since you are focusing on one group a day instead of total body, you may be doing more with that particular group and building more muscle, which could calculate to a small weight gain. Again, I'm definitely no expert-just guessing. But really, go with how you feel, and if a total body works better for you, then stick with that.

thankyou so much I was thinking the same thing, I was losing before I decided to change it up and now I'm not losing, I'm going back to full body every day, and see if I start losing again if I do than I know that's what works for me!!!! Thanks again. emoticon

I'm no fitness guru so I could very well be wrong but I'd say if you were doing something that was working for YOU, then that's what you should stick with. I'm thinking if you stick w/what you know and you hit a plateau, then that would be the time to try to change it up. I've see all kinds of workout DVD's that have you doing full body workouts 6 days a week...the workouts get a little harder every two weeks but throughout they do full body (cardio, strength & stretch/yoga). Go with what works for you - weight loss and fitness isn't "one size fits all"! Keep up the good work!

I really feel like I'm getting somewhere!!!!!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I've been dieting on and off for about 10 years. I own every exercise tape and machine on the market. This is the first time that I'm really sticking to something. The motivation is here for me when I don't feel like doing anything, in the morning. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for a very long time and the medications put on weight. My children put on weight, and I'm tired of excuses. I need to do this for me and after only three weeks, I have to say I am seeing results, inches and pounds off and it keeps me coming back everyday, to this wonderful sight. I love it and I really think I'm going to reach my goal. My clothes fit better, I look better and I also feel soooo much better. Thanks Sparkpeople!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
