12 Days of Christmas Fitness Challenge

Friday, December 05, 2014

To help jump start my physical activity for December, I am doing the 12 days of Christmas which is a physical activity that follows the song 12 Days of Christmas. Originally, it came from a boot camp class that I did a few years ago and now try to do it every so often around Chrsitmas.
For each day, you do the prescribed activity and each preceding activity until you get to day 1 just like the song. For 2014, I am doing it twice in the month of December - right now and when Christmas actually happens.
Actions for each day are below:

Day 1 - 1 Lap around a block, a loop in the park or a track.
Day 2 - 2 8 count body builders
Day 3 - 3 Jump Squats
Day 4 - 4 Skaters Squats
Day 5 - 5 Burpees
Day 6 - 6 Superman
Day 7 - 7 Plank Jacks
Day 8 - 8 Push Ups
Day 9 - 9 Mountain Climbers
Day 10 - 10 Jumping Jacks
Day 11 - 11 Squats
Day 12 -12 Tabata sprints

If you miss a day you can go to the next day or makeup the day on the next day and do double duty(not fun but not bad as long as you do not fall too far behind like 6 days).
If you feel up to it, you can do it all on one day depending on your fitness level.
You can also change the exercises depending on your fitness level.
Just remember to have fun. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

90 Day Burpee Challenge

Monday, March 31, 2014

A friend sent this to me and I am seeing how many consecutive days that I can go:
Last Monday was 90 days until Summer so for the next 90 days I am doing a burpee a day. Day one is one burpee, day 2 is two burpees until you do 90 burpees in a day
I probably can not do them all at once and so I will split them up when I get up into the higher numbers. If I miss a day, I miss a day and I will go onto the next one in the number. If you missed the start, just start where you are and go from there.
Currently I am on day 8.
Note : A Burpee is a Squat Thrust with a push up.

Yikes

Just finished updating my food for the last two days and I am eating way way too much food based on calories. I need to get back on track and eat much better. The doughnuts in the break room have been my achilles heel lately. Fast Food last two days as well.

I hear ya about donuts. Southern Maid is my nemesis~ thankful there are none here. The rest I can pretty much do without. I find I'm more successful when I plan ahead & prep. You can do it! emoticon BB~ emoticon emoticon

Week That Was - 08/29 - 09/05

Saturday, September 05, 2009

Not too bad a week eating wise. I ate out less this week which is a good thing. I ate too much junk food which is a weakness. I did get more running in this week than I did in the past and I burned almost 4,000 calories. That is a good start. Now, if I can get my eating under control, I will be on my way.

Week that was 8/23 - 8/29

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Not a bad week eating wise. I still eat out too much which I need to cut back on. My schedule for the next 2 weeks will be less hectic so I can eat in more and eat out less.
I just started doing the 100 hundred pushups program(www.100pushups.com). I plan to do 100 pushups in one try by the end of September.
Missed 1 day of running which made me me miss a goal of burning 3500 calories a week by about 150 calories.
Here is to having a better next week with a few improvements and meeting a few goals.
