tomorrows weigh in

Saturday, January 08, 2011

tomorrows weigh in is making me a little nervous..... I'm hoping to see something.. I have a really hard time with my sodium intake and I know that that can cause issues on the scale.

I really need to stay away from pizza.. I have thought about making my own sauce and putting it on whole wheat tortillas with major veggies and minor cheese, like 1/4 cup part skim mozzarella... hmmmm.. I need to just do it!... sodium sucks

sorry just kinda babbling... just got done doing a mile on the treadmill to see where I'm at for next weeks PUSH challenge.. extra blood flow..whew

Hope your weigh in went well.
I have really been struggling with sodium too.
If I find any good ideas to reduce sodium without reducing taste I will pass them along.

Good luck with your weigh in!

In my experience, homemade pizza is the BEST! Tastes great with out all the grease and sodium! emoticon

I managed to lose .3 - not too bad considering that I can not exercise! You will do fine. Drink lots of water and green tea.

No Worries! Just remember whatever happens this week look back and fix for the next week. I struggle with too much sodium as well. IT sucks!

Sodium intake is very difficult. It seems salt is added to everything you buy these days. I added sodium to my tracker just recently and it has really opened my eyes to how much salt is in the foods I have been eating. Good luck on reducing your levels and your journey! You can do it!

so I've kinda...

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

not been doing too well.. I've ben dealing with a medical issue and I finally got an answer to what it is but I'm a little depressed about one of the things I need to do to reverse it. The other thing that I need to do to reverse it I have already started... that's losing weight. My doctor told me that she wants me to go on a low carb diet! Now, I hate the word diet. All I really want is to be healthy and I don't want to gain everything back if I start eating carbs again?! Maybe I'm just going a little overboard? I need some motivation and some friends to help kick my butt into gear........... I can't do this alone anymore.

Low carb is not so bad...well okay maybe at first. But you can do this. You will feel so much better!! Come on now!! It is your life...make it last.

    Good luck!!
Hopefully you can change it from a diet to a lifestyle that you can stick with.

My husband did the whole "limit the carb thing". It worked great, but what is your fear was reality for him. Once he incorporated them back into his diet he gained the weight back. I know that isn't the case for everybody, but it is definitely a real fear. I really hope you can find what works for take it off and keep it off!! Good Luck!! emoticon

Diet only means that which one eats. I hope that you can build a diet that you can live with. I like the low carb but have the same fears. Hang in there.

yeah, I hear ya. I never think "low carb" is the answer. Maybe just change your carbs. Have more whole grains, brown rice, and sweet potatoes. If you don't like whole wheat pasta, try the Ronzoni brand, Smart Taste (I think that's the name) It's a good blend I can't tell from regular, but it's high fiber. You'll find good support everywhere on Spark. YOU CAN DO THIS! emoticon emoticon

Maybe just limit some of your breads and sweets rather than all carbs. You might try seeking a second opinion from another doctor or a registered dietician. In any case, you've come to the right place to get support. Best of luck!

I think that is great! I stayed home with my son the first few years and then had to go back to work. I went to work 3rd shift so I could still take care of him during the day.

It is wonderful when you can home with your children and raise them. It is really rewarding and nothing like it.
