I am ready to re-commit. We have the end of the month coming up and the start of a brand-new one!. I've learned how easy it is to slide away slowly. I never intended to slip out of good habits -- it just started to happen! A combination of way too busy, a little bit of depression due to some difficult circumstances, followed by some GOOD new and eating out a few too many times and..... Uh oh. What happened to that healthy eating and the exercise?

So yesterday I was back on the treadmill. I will do this. You all are helping by just being here posting. I know I can continue forward - I don't want to go backward to where I started.

A good number

While I know the scale means more to me than it should, I'm really excited about the number I saw this morning.

175

Why is that good? Well, I haven't seen it in a long time. Now it's been super, crazy long since I have been under 175 - so walk with me to that place where the scale is going to go below 175. Let's take that walk together shall we?

A walk on a journey to a new "low" -- when a new "low" is a good thing!

Hold my hand. We'll get there together. Laughing, enjoying life and smelling the roses along the way.

This is when it gets hard

It always starts getting hard for me about a week in. Sometimes I only last 3 days.

I'm one week into this and I'm down about 2 lbs since last week. I took Saturday and Sunday as "off" days but I tried hard not to overeat those days. I just was careful but didn't do the shakes.

So 2 lbs in one week. That means if I keep this up I can do 16 lbs in 2 months. I need to hold onto that type of image. Think ahead. Dream ahead. Look past this hungry moment and into the positive future I have.

Let's go, body! Forward toward great things and smaller sizes.

  rewards and weight loss are ways to look and feel better . be more healthy and feel better . you will be amazed at the different things you will notice . one pound or one hundred little things add up . keep up the good work . you are amazing . emoticon

    LOL! I agree with JAMBABY0 about eating, but I would say to add fat. The reason you know low carb is good for you is that you only feel hungry when you actually NEED fuel or nutrients. If you're hungry, then eat.

Also, I hate to be Debbie Downer, but 2 pounds a week when you're near your goal weight is kind of unrealistic unless you're on the Biggest Loser. Whatever you do to lose those 16 pounds is EXACTLY the same thing you're going to do to keep them off. If you lose them doing something unsustainable, then back they will come and they will probably bring friends. ;)

If you really want to lose fast, then use this calculator to figure out your ratios, but I can pretty much guarantee that you're not gonna like what it tells you, lol!

    It's hard to see the future picture when you start. It took me several different tries before I finally stuck to this diet. Can you set goals with rewards throughout the journey?
for example
first 5 lbs lost- buy a new shirt
first 10 lbs lost- mini trip with family to the beach
etc
I noticed after doing that it is a lot easier to keep the motivation and time passes more quickly.
Oh and congrats on your 2 lb loss!!

I love fruits. Pears, Apples, Oranges, Bananas, berries....

I'm so glad it's Spring because here come the abundance of fresh fruits. Yesterday I ate an apple and 4 bananas emoticon emoticon

I love it. Can't want to hit up the grocery store and stock up on the things I love that are actually good for me.

    I do a protein shake probably 6 days a week - have been doing that for a couple of years now. They keep me full for several hours... Some people just have to get used to doing it.
