Finally in the 2's!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Today's weigh in put me below 300 for the first time in 20 years...298!!!! I've gone from a 56 waist to a 46 waist in 10 months. While I am not as far along as I had planned to be, I am very happy where I am. I hope to end my first year in SP at 290 on 1/1/12. I am working to reach 260 by my 65th birthday on 6/27/12.

"Thank you" aren't big enough words to describe how grateful I am to SP and all my sparkfriends that continue to encourage me along the way.

Sugarland Concert

Friday, October 14, 2011

My wife and I went to see Sugarland last night and they were AWESOME! The bonus was fitting into the seat...WOOHOO! and although we left our house at 4:00pm and returned after midnight, I was able to find food that put me at the bottom of my food range for the day. I can't recall the last time I went to a concert and was able to eat healthy for the day.

As I am writing this I'm listening to Paulo Nutini's song "Little things"(mean the most in life to me).........what a coincidence!...and so true.

Fruits of my labor

Sunday, October 09, 2011

One of my top 3 goals in pursuing fitness and good health was to be able to fully enjoy my grandchildren. I just spent the last two days with my kids and my four amazing grandkids. We did all the traditional New England fall things; corn maze, apple picking, pumpkin patch, hayride, picnic, jumping in leaves, etc.
I am more grateful than I can say for the guidance and support from SP to make this a reality for me after 9 months of good nutrition and exercise.
This is a most wonderful time of my life!

Think about how important it can be for them to have a healthy, happy grandfather be a part of their lives too. I'm so happy to see you getting so much return on your commitment.

I'm happy to read about "time with the grandkids." I have two who live close by and two who live in Ridgecrest, CA. We see the Ridgecrest grandkids (and my daughter and son-in-law too, of course) once a year. It's quite expensive to fly there from Hawaii, and we make the most of it when we are there. Dylen (6) and Aleena (3) are our far-away joys!

Our two grandkids who live here are such a joy. Well, it was our daughter's decision to live in CA. Anyway, our grandson Micah will be turning one on the 21st of this month. He was a 10-21-11 baby, weighing 7 # 7.7 oz. Our granddaughter Mariana is 3 and was born on 08-08-08 and weight 6# 6oz.

Time with family is very precious and enjoyable. We all must make the most of things.

Wish we could go corn mazing, apple picking, pumpkin patching, hayriding, and enjoying the fall colors. (We don't have that luxury in Hawaii. Of course, we can go picnicking.)

At Disney this week with kids/grandkids I have been able to do everything, walking 3-5miles/day, fit on all rides easily and fully enjoy family time...all thanks to 60 lb weight-loss over last 9 months with SP. emoticon

Goal met 3 weeks ahead of plan!! Woohooo!

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

The size 48 jeans I ordered arrived today. I wanted to have them on hand to try on when Oct 1st arrives. The date I had set for my quarterly goals. I decided to try them on just to see how close I was. Turns out they are even a little loose! That makes 10 inches off my waist in 8.5 months!
I love this program! emoticon

That is so fantastic! Your choices, your actions make this happen. There's no magic to it, it's all about you. Which means success in the future is simply more of the same quality choices and actions. Way to go, my friend.

Cool. My hubby did the same thing. We bought a size 38 waist for him so he would have them ready as his slacks were beginning to get baggy. He tried them on just to see, and low and behold they fit!

He was thrilled, and he looked good to.

Enjoy the feeling and keep Sparking!
