Eating WW food plan without membership - down 3 lbs this week

After paying dues for 9 weeks, I made the decision to keep on WW food plan but drop membership. The meetings in our town were a waste of time for many reasons I won't bore you with. I lost 3 pounds this week for a total of 21lbs in 10 weeks.
This way of eating and tracking works for me. I track everything on Spark then use the days total nutrition numbers to calculate my points for the day. Although WW doesn't track calories or fruit and veggies, I see that I average 2050/day and I track everything. In the same 10 weeks my wife has dropped 18 of the 30 she wants to loose to hit her goal weight. I can't tell you how much easier it is for me with my wife doing the same eating and exercise plans, especially when we eat out and plan out strategy ahead of time together. We are mutually supportive without becoming "the food police" for each other. Thank you God! emoticon

    You are SO lucky!! That is the way to go. Even when you lose the weight you have in your goal, this is not a diet here, it is a new lifestyle, so you just keep on using it for life.

How to loose 70lbs in 40 short months!

After loosing 70lbs in my first 14 months doing Spark, I experienced a series of health challenges that have put me off exercise for a total of 11 months in the last 26 months. I know this because I never stopped tracking my food and exercise despite the periods of inactivity and less than clean eating. Although I continue to be incapacitated for a few days at a time due to back pain, I have managed to claw my way back to the 70lb weight loss total once again. I never put on more than 14 lbs during long periods of Doctor ordered inactivity.
I think I can safely say that I have adopted a new healthy lifestyle because I have always resumed my program as soon as I was cleared by my doctors.
I may never win awards for speedy weight loss but I might deserve a bronze for perseverance

The great mystery of weight loss

So two weeks ago I experienced a 2.5lb weight gain despite clean eating and 320 minutes of cardio. This was followed by a week where I lost the 2.5 and then this week where I lost 4.6 lbs. go figure!
Can't wait to see what happens this

Whatupwitdat? Gaining weight despite exercising and eating clean

Even though i did 240 minutes of cardio and ate at the bottom of my recommended range this week, I gained 2.5 lbs! emoticon

Has anyone else ever had this experience?

    I don't really have anything to add from the other comments. Just stick with it and see what happens. The body can be a funny thing when it comes to weight loss

    Many POSSIBLE reasons for this. Don't panic, yet.

Salt intake. Muscle gain from weights, etc. "Dump" lag. ;-) ...

I recommend moving averages on weight. Takes a lot of the drama out of the process.

    I too have been working hard and not seen results (gained 2lbs since my last weigh-in). I just remind myself the number on the scale doesn't tell the whole story.
I also focus on non-weight related victories, like gaining strength (ie I can lift 215 lbs on my leg press, when I started I could only lift 150) or fitting into my clothes better.
Nobody sees the scale but me, I'd rather know I'm making healthy choices and see results everyone can see (like lost inches)

Good news/Bad news

The good news is I lost 2 more pounds this week for a total of 12 lbs in four weeks. The bad news is...after starting PT for my back yesterday,I am experiencing the worst back spasms ever. emoticon
I have been icing for last 90 minutes and it has only let up a bit.
I remain determined to not let this setback derail my efforts to loose weight and get fit but am unsure how my back issue will impact progress going forward.

    Yikes! Ask your PT about it for sure... they usually have reccomendations for the pain.
