Forced Exercise

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

I usually park in the basement of the parking garage across the street from my office. It's only two floors down. This morning when I got in the elevator, it went way past the first floor and then just stopped. The doors never opened! emoticon

I pushed the emergency phone button and was told that it would be 15 to 20 minutes before the mechanical arrived emoticon

I had called my office and explained what was going on and they called the building management. They sent the building engineers over and they were able to finally get me out, on he sixth floor. So I walked down emoticon

You gotta celebrate the little things in life, right? emoticon

Not good

Friday, March 01, 2013

Got some really bad news this week. We will be losing a family member soon. In away it's nice to know it is coming, but then again it gives you plenty of time to dwell on it. When he is gone it will be hard on everyone, but on my kids the most. He is their great grandfather and has been a loving man to everyone.

This made me eat out of control this week. I'm not blaming the situation at all. I'm the one that made the decision to put that stuff in my mouth, but I'm justifying it.

Not much more to say on this one

I'm sorry to hear this. It's never easy, even when you think you're prepared.

So this weekend was a total bust. I had a really bad day at work on Friday, so told my husband we are going out to dinner. I had a steak with potatos Au Gratin. But I also had brocolli, so perhaps they were offset. I ate so fast I barely tasted the food. That is my big problem, emotional eating. I used to stop at the drivethru on my way home and order a full meal, then eat it as I drove, dumped the "evidence" and then had dinner with the family. I haven't done that in a long time, but sometimes I think about it and have to talk myself out of it. Saturday was ok, but then Sunday my youngest daughter and I had a mom daughter day. She doesn't want those very often, so I jumped at the chance. We went to lunch and I had a bacon cheeseburger AND we had onion rings and fried zuchini spears with Ranch dressing!

We had a good talk so I made the rationalization that it was ok to not just fall off the wagon, but to fully jump off.

So now it's Monday and I feel totally guilty about everything I put into my mouth. I know that we can't change the past, and what's done is done, but I was really hoping that I would do better on making choices. I also know that the change won't happen overnight, but it will never happen if I don't try.

It's Monday and I have another opportunity to start again, so here goes!

We're all going to have days where we slip back into our old habits. You messed up, you admitted it,now move on. You said it yourself, it's Monday and a fresh start.

Hang in there and think about how good it is you know where you have difficulties with overeating. From what you've written you have made improvements and you'll make more too in the time to come :-)
Hang in there and remember all that guilt won't taker those calories out of your body! So, plan your meals (like I saw others had suggested to you when you had similar problems earlier) and do all those little things that you know are good for you to do but maybe aren't yet doing - and, hey, it's not just good for you but it will be better for your whole family!

Yesterday was really not a good day. I had a blow up with a co-worker, lunch out, and a talking to about my performance in regards to a specific account I handle at work.

I guess lunch was ok. Two shrimp rolls, brown rice, lemon grass chicken, and some gralic prawn noodles. Kept my portion sizes reasonable.

I've been working crazy hours and it seems like I am never able to get caught up. But I guess I just have to do a better job of prioritizing my desk.

Oh well today is a new day!

Back on the wagon

Monday, February 04, 2013

So for me weekends are the killer. I have no routine. This means that I go off plan and really stray from the path.

I make justifications like, I deserve this. I've worked hard all week and this is my treat. But then one turns into two, turns into three and so on.

I always make the resolve to start again on Monday, but today have already pretty much blown it. Breakfast? Over 600 calories.

I have the same problem. It is all about planning which I find is easy during the week when you are at work and preoccupied with the job..but during the weekend, i go hog wild and treat myself like i earned the reward to eat what i want..all that does is undo all of our hardwork during the week 8-(

No no no, breakfast is not blown at 600 calories. If you have the right foods, filling foods, that 600 calorie could take you through until lunch, maybe through lunch, maybe through a snack or two and even up to dinner!! I have lots of 600 calorie breakfasts. I also have some that are 200 and 300, but then I have to have a snack in a couple of hours.

So just find those foods that are filling. If you run out of calories as the day progresses, then turn to lots and lots of veggies, like a BAS (big @$$ salad).

Sometimes I track ahead of time. That helps to make sure I have enough for the day. And if I dont but I am still hungry, then veggies it is.

My blog today was YAHH it is Monday. I have the same problem. What I have started doing is workout on Saturday or Sunday before anything else that way what I do and eat is always in the front of my mind as I have already worked so hard for the day. I go over often on the weekends but I work extra hard during the week to make up for it. Sadly I spend so much time making up for it I don't lose. It is a vicious cycle. It is okay to have a free day but not a free weekend and still lose.

Good Luck! It may help to plan out your weekends like you do your work week that way you know what to expect.
