As I have been trying to help my husbands side of the family lose weight and get healthy as I started 2 years ago they are always asking me how I do it, why I did it and how i keep it up.
I am always thinking about healthy eating and habits. Since we recently moved, I rarely drive anymore. Just put my kids in their Radio Flyer wagon and we are off!!!
It is a lifestyle change. Its a choice I make everyday. I can choose to be lazy and do nothing and eat junk, or choose to be active and play with the kids and eat healthy foods. Its not a diet. I dont tell myself I CANT have anything. I just have to increase my activity if I decide to give into a craving.
I have my sister in law walking with us every few days, as she is very new to exercise. We slowly increase the length of our walks. She is doing great. I dont make her talk about her goals or weight, unless she wants to. I just want to get her moving!! Hopefully she will join Sparkpeople and make the change!
