Very proud of my self

Monday, March 21, 2011

Spent a lot of time on the road this weekend. Left very early on Friday morning to travel to Virginia to a friend move back to Michigan.

While on the road and many stops in the service centers along the way the serve lots of fast food junk. I packed my own food to go with me so the only junk I ate on the way there was none. I did get coffee to go.

When I got to home she had a Philly steak and cheese sub for me, it was a 12" one, I was thinking to my self no way will I or can I eat this whole thing, as I know its not good for me. Well I did eat half of it that night and the other half the next day for lunch.

Breakfast that day was sausage, eggs, hash browns and toast. I did not I mean did not clean my plate.

We had a good dinner that night with baked chicken, green beans, salad, and mashed potatoes. Once again I did not clean my plate.

Than back on the road to Michigan on Sunday morning. She went through the drive thru at Mc Donalds asked if I wanted anything when I said thank you but no thank you. I made my self some oatmeal with lite yogurt, and 1/2 c of skim milk and put fruit in it and had that for breakfast packed it in my cooler and ate this on the road. We did stop again at many rest stops on the way home. I did eat some taco bell and that was all.

Got back in Michigan about 8pm had a salad with a hard boiled relaxed about a hour than off to bed.

All in all with some of the junk I ate this weekend I didn't gain a pound. I didn't make my not being at home an excuse to not still eat good healthy, and over eat. emoticon

It is difficult to eat healthy when you are traveling. You planned well and it paid off. Eating foods occassionally which are less healthy won't totally de-rail all of our hard work and progress towards health. This is especially true in the manner you describe in controlled portions. This is why I really like the freedom of the 80-20 guideline Spark advocates. In the long run you probably felt better during the trip, and you have the satisfaction of knowing you met a challenge and returned home just the same size as when you left. emoticon emoticon

Worked my butt off on that elliptical

Saturday, February 12, 2011

Just don't get it.GRRRRRRRRRRR worked so hard on the elliptical this week and didn't lose a pound. Watched what I ate all week long, drank my water. I think I need to change something up. Think I am going to go to Bally's on Monday and get on the moving stairs, see if that helps any.

It seems like you get down to a certain weight than it just stops, and can't get over the hump. I am going to seek a personal trainer for a few sessions.

I went to a super bowl party last week didn't drink any beer or mixed drinks watched everything I ate, took a few bites of the cake that my son had. Just is so frustrating at times.

Come spring!!!

You can do it. The moving stairs are great. We don't have them at my gym. I used them at a gym that I use to go to and they really made a difference.

Stress Stress and more Stress

Sunday, February 06, 2011

This past week has been very stressful for my self. I had a Cat Scan done on my chest on Tuesday. Was told by the DR. that my x ray showed a small spot on my lungs.
I use to smoke I gave it up 15 yrs ago. I am so happy that I gave it up for good at that time.

The results are back from the radiologist, he says that I have a minor dependent atelectasis at the lower lobe. My Dr. wasn't in the office when I went in the office yesterday, the nurse said well pretty much what they are saying is you need to stop smoking, I was like yeah I did that 15 yrs ago.

What this means is that there are small areas of the lung near your spine that may not be fully expanded when you lay down. But when I get up it fully expands again.

So needless to say this week I was lazy didn't hit the gym once or even do my walk at home dvd. On a good note I didn't turn to food to get me through the stress, I did still lose a pound this week.

I feel blessed, In so many ways.

Good for you that you didn't turn to food in the stressful times! So sorry to hear about the results, though. I quit smoking 11 years ago and whenever I get to thinking I can't do something I remember that I quit smoking. If I can do that, I can do anything!
You are blessed and I just love your positive attitude!

I'm sorry about your results. I think you're doing well in the way you are handling the stress. I think you're doing a lot to get healthy, and that can only help your situation. Keep your outlook positive. I know being negative is not the way to go, I can attest to that! Thinking good thoughts for you! Kathy

Friday, January 28, 2011

I need this. It should help me with the stress I have got going right now. I got a call yesterday from the Dr's I had a chest x-ray on January 3rd and the nurse said that the see a small spot on one of my lungs. This has me a little upset. Not sure if I should be as I have had bronchitis in the past, it could just be that or it could be COPD. I just pray its not serious!

Have a blessed day. emoticon

My Weight loss Progress

Monday, January 17, 2011

I have been over weight pretty much my whole life. I have lost weight in the past to just gain it all back, and then some. I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me! I have a different mind set now.

I got down to 171 lbs on Nov 20, since than it has been a up and down battle to even take off 1 lb. I would take a pound off and gain it back week after week, this past week I went to weight watchers on my weigh-in day and lost 2 lbs. I was so happy.

I started to do the kettelbell work out with Jillian, she said it will help burn more calories. I have done it twice and I did my walk and tone 2 mile walk 3 days a week.

I know that I have said in the past few weeks that living in Michigan in the winter time that weight loss is very hard for m, because I tend to hibernate in the winter months. I will not go out in the cold and walk. I said that I would be happy to just stay at 171 lbs till March. Now that I have lost 2 lbs I am more motivated to work harder. emoticon
