WGA Strike

I've been following what's going on with the writer's strike through the blog I linked to with this post. There is a petition you can sign here:

This affects any of us that watch movies or any kind of scripted television. The strike is getting less and less coverage by the media now, and I'm sure the writers could use a boost of support right about now. Please feel free to pass these links around liberally. I figured this was the best way to reach everyone that is used to hearing from me here on Spark, to remind you all that I am leaving tomorrow for Long Beach, for a one night stay with a dear friend, and then I depart for Oahu on Weds morning, a little before 9 local time. I'm excited and nervous, and oh so very happy to finally get to be with the man I love again. Its been a long 4 months, and I've missed him very much. He still makes my heart skip a beat, he is my best friend, and my soulmate. I am a very blessed woman to have the opportunity to have 5 days in paradise with him, and I just can't wait for it to start! I'll talk to you all when I get back, take care of yourselves, and of each other!

I don't know why I am so tired today. You'd think I'd be full of energy after that wonderful massage I received. Maybe my body is just confused after all that pampering and I need a good night's sleep to fully reap the benefits, I don't know. Its not like I feel worse after having work done, I'm just really sleepy! I did still get in all of my cardio, and my weights were done before I went to the appointment today. It doesn't occur to me anymore to skip a workout, or to buy foods that don't do anything for us nutritionally, let alone eat them. The one vice I seem to have kept is chocolate, and I only want a small amount of that a day, and not even every day. I still haven't gotten on the scale, but I've been following Spark's recommendation about my calories with the amount of cardio I've been doing, and I think I see a change in how clothes are fitting. I'm planning on getting on the scale on Tuesday morning so that I know where I was when I left on vacation, and I will do a check when I get back the following Monday to make sure that I didn't manage to do a major backslide while I was in Hawaii, but the numbers aren't as much of a focus for me since I've put the scale away. In the week since we picked up the elliptical, I've gone from 10 minutes on it for the day to 40 minutes a day, broken into 2 segments. Its usually where I head right after breakfast, and then again after dinner, to help with the blood sugars. I'm seeing results there, my numbers are certainly lower, and I love it. My hubby is right; the weight will come off in its own time. My job is to keep at this, and continue to simply make it who I AM instead of something I DO.
