It's been a really long time since I blogged and I really have been meaning to. The last year has been crazy since my surgery Dec. 8, 2010. In short I had my rotator cuff repaired and got some nerve damage, my shoulder froze up, then I had a manipulation in April which a day later I dislocated my shoulder down then forward (very painful) , then in July I had another manipulation and again the next day dislocated it down and forward. Because of the nerve damage and freezing they can't put the ligament back on the bone to prevent dislocation. It's all kinda a bummer but I keep trying to move it move and have accepted that some things I just can't do for right now. I spent almost a year on a bunch of nerve meds etc, physical therapy, surgeries etc. No excuse but I ended up going up 25 pounds. Then in October when I tried to start losing again the weight just seemed to be stuck if I tracked etc or just kinda ate whatever within reason, so I kinda gave up. This time I'm doing the Sparkpeople plan and I'm sticking to it!!!! I will allow myself 3 meals of plan within reason a week and not beat myself up if I mess up just start back over with a clean slate right away. I have been doing it for the last 2 weeks and the scale finally moved a pound. I'm excited about that and at the same time frustrated with my body. I just have to remember that even when the scale isn't moving I'm still getting healthier and no to let the stupid number rule me :)
On a great note in April we are going to Anaheim for my daughters hip hop finals and we are going to Disneyland with the kids the two days following the compitition. Then in late April my hubby and I are finally headed off to New York for a week and a half. We are super excited about this trip we have been planning for 8 years. It finally isn't going to be postponed any longer :) Also due to us going through the Dave Ramsey Course and getting our finances under control we didn't go into debt with me being out for 9 months on half pay. We even managed to pay the medical bills.
The kids have mostly been doing well. I had some very hard parent moments this last week. Long story short on that one. My 11 year old son was on a bus with some routes put together, due to few kids going in on spring break. A kid he didn't know crawled under the seats went up behind him and grabbed him by the throat and threaten to cut him with a pair of scissors and actually did then ran back to his seat at the back of the bus(only 7 kids on the bus, the 4 in the back were laughing and calling my son names). Thankfully not that deep, it's a crazy ordeal cause later the kid was looking for his wallet and accused my son of stealing it. When the kids was crawling on the ground looking for his wallet my son kicked him and is now being charged with assault too. Not anywhere near as a serious charge as the other kid though. So I had to sit through my 11 year old being read his rights, watch the video, and learn he too was being charged because he was no longer in danger when he kicked him. Also the next day the kid threatened him with a bigger pair of scissors and flashed them at him. That is when my son finally told his teacher about the day before and the tapes got pulled from the bus. It kinda looked like a pretty good cat scratch about 3-4 inches long :( I'm so thankful I didn't get a call that he was on his way to the hospital or that he fought back and someone got stabbed. Poor thing just sat there, it really broke my heart and still does. Not sure what is to come, the kids is actually in class with my daughter she is almost 13. School is back in session in a week and I'm tring to get my son into counseling starting this week. Through this I have managed to keep my eating and exercise mostly under control with a few lazy but eating good days.
Oh yeah and I starting using a fit bit back in January if anyone wants to be friends. Hope to post some new pics soon and can't wait to start catching up with people and meeting new people.

This month has been great and full of adventure!!!! I am blessed and continue to focus on the positive and try to help others see the good in their life and live a healthier life. I have made some really good choices this month that I am very proud of :o) A few not so good but that is just part of being human so I am ok with that!!!!!
Today is the second "lesson" in a study that I am doing with a dear friend of mine.(I think there are 12 - 2 hour sessions total) The study is about preventing diabetes and basically being healthier. I'm really excited to see what it will bring.
So as far as accomplishments for August go here are my top four:
1 - I got into the 150's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, right now I'm about 158, will update next week. Here is my picture from my official weigh-in that I was under 160 :o) So my appointment to get my hair cut and highlighted is set for next Tuesday!!!!! Yeah I had two goals to be able to go. First was to not gain on our trip which was a success and the second was to be under 160 another success. Now I need to come up with a under 155 reward :o)
2 - I went to a buffet (Sweet Tomatoes) and am happy about the choices I made!!!!! Here are the pictures of what I had, I also went after a 2 hour workout and didn't use that as an excuse to indulge. I am so proud and happy about this choice!!!! :o)
3 - I am being positive at work and making great changes. Life is what you make of it after all, right? I won't always be in this job, but for now it is helping get us out of debt and I have some great friends!!!!! I am just trying to help others on my own until I can have a job doing so.
4 - I also got into the next size down jeans :o) and get this next week I am going to try the next size down ( I bought them last month on clearance)
I have also been making my yummy protein coffee shake and egg and veggie patties

Here are some homemade baked fries I made :o) I made up a bunch of these by cutting them up cooking most the way then freezing them. So much better then processed ones and the kids love them!!! Also we don't waste the potatoes that hubby won't use for baked potatoes.

My son broke his arm a week ago, all the way through his radious :o( but on the plus side he is ok :o) and is in good care. He goes again on Friday for more x-rays. He also loves his castoo Panda ;o)

Hope everyone is doing great and making some great choices. Please focus on the great things in your life. It really does improve the quality of life!!! :o) I'm going to Zumba 4 days a week and a few other classes and raquetball mixed in :o) I've got my sister going to the gym with me!!! This is great!!!!!! We are also starting a step challenge at wor to help motivate people to work more. :o) So many grat things are coming up and going right in my life. Nothing can bring it down!!!! Just make the best of the not so pleasant people/things and move forward. Have a great day and a Spectacular September!!!!!
September is a month full of celebration. 5 year anniversary for hubby and I Yeah I love him so much!!!!!!! He is one of my number one fans!!!!! It's also both of our birthdays this month. I am celebrating mine with a sprint triatholon!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!

So I haven't updated my blog in quite some time. Allot has gone on :o) I'm now down to 160 pounds Yeah!!!! 150's I will see you next weigh-in :o) We went on a 12 day trip driving from AZ to OH. I visited each of my sisters that live in Ohio for a day , then we went to the Cleveland Breast Cancer 3 day to crew the event. Most of the crew was down right rude with the team we were on , but the true reason we were there was the walkers, and we totally made it about them. We met some amazing people and were able to help hundreds. We also got to see our 3 day family, the ones we crew with in Phoenix, 3 of them walked and 1 of them crewed on a different crew. They are all amazing and I wished we all lived closer. We live in CA, AZ, CO, and IA but are best of friends. We call it our chosen family, not that we don't love people in our birth familys ;o) We also got to meet up with Ali Vincent from Biggest loser in Columbus for a boot camp workout :o)
The biggest challenge being on the road and eating out for 12 days is the food for me. I made a deal with hubby that if I didn't gain weight on the trip that I could get $100 from the budget to get my hair cut and highlighted at the salon with my favorite hairdresser (it's been 4 years since I've seen him) Sooooooooo I managed to keep my weight the exact same which is totally huge for me !!!!! I was so excited!!!! Yeah I had made a deal with myself that once I went under 160 that I was going to get my hair done, so the next weigh-in I should be making my appointment, soooo close
The kids are doing good my step daughter starts school next week and my two started back on July 19th, poor things barely got out June 18th. They are doing so well this year with a new school and district :o) Almost 4 weeks in and my son hasn't gotten into trouble once, I'm so proud of how they are doing. My son joined band and my daughter joined drama.
I have been working out regularly , resting atleast one day a week, inspiring others, eating well, and just doing amazing. I'm making the best of some bad things at work and it's making things sooo much better just remember to love life
Can't wait for the wellness cruise I will be going on with my mom in October :o) I'm getting really excited about it!!! There is also some cool stuff coming up in September that I will blog about maybe when I get more details :o) Also in September I'm doing a sprint triathlon for my Birthday, so exciting!!!!!!!
