Friday my no sleeping during the day day.

What am I talking about? I would a third shift so on Fridays in order to get a full weekend, I stay up during the day. I get most of my chores done on Fridays. This morning I have taken my daughter to school, done the grocery shopping, started dinner, and washer part of the dishes. After my lunch/mid morning snack of some tea and some dark sweet cherries gonna get my first day of my couch to 5k in. Off for a 30 minutes walk/run in the ran...hmm maybe I should just do the wii fit today... anyway, exercise will be happening in this house this morning. Then, I need to sweep and mop the kitchen and scrub the bathroom. Later in the evening, I have to open my girl scout bank account and then we need to do a laundry mat run...if my hubby still has off this evening.

Well time to get off my buttock and go get some stuff done. Happy Friday everyone, and remember everyone's journey starts with that first pound lost. I decided that this will be my journey of 2 pounds lost at a time.

Mid week mini celebration, 1 pound down.. halfway there. Been some moments of not so good eating this week but I am gonna keep plugging and reminding myself that I want to get these weight off 2 pounds at a time.

My oldest now loves artichokes. I will have to get more on our weekly grocery run. I was wonderfully surprised this morning when my oldest insisted she wanted to buy her lunch today because she wanted... wait for it.... a salad. Wohoo thank you to here wonderful teachers and their encouraging healthy habits. I also found out that they incorporate 30 minutes of exercise to begin the day at our elementary school what an awesome way to get the kids to think healthy. It is funny she is always asking me now is this healthy for me.

I have a parent teacher conference this afternoon with the oldest child's teacher. She is doing well but has a few issues I want to ask about. There is also a child who is picking on the kids who buy their lunches and I am gonna ask what they are doing about it. Since we have to do this tonight, I am not cooking but we are gonna have subway instead... oldest has been asking for it. Veggie sub for me and kid meal for the kids then off to the park or for a walk. Such a beautiful day here.

Loving the new idea we had at our house. Every Sunday is try a new veggie day. So, yesterday for the first time ever I made fresh artichokes. My oldest, who is 6 now, loved them. I actually had to tell her she couldn't have anymore so her father could have some. Will definitely make them again. Gotta get my youngest to start trying new foods again.

Found lots of awesome veggie filled new recipes to try. We got our tax return and my yearly bonus back to back so we stocked up on some wonderful new foods and some of our favorites. Cooking is so much more fun when you have lots of ingredients to play with. :). Gonna get these first 2 pounds off and then work on the rest that needs to come off.

Found some cool fit tv exercise programs I liked over the weekend too. I get bored easily so I don't usually do an exercise video more than once or twice in a row so it isn't worth it for me to buy them but netflicks, and hula have some great ones that I can watch, try and return.

    You can find the videos under fitness or exercise. They are older videos but hey they are still a fun new way to exercise.

Fresh year fresh start

I have been a member of this site for over 3 years now. Have I lost weight, yes, have I gained it back, yes. Why? Because I haven't been consistent in my plan. So starting today, I will eat 5 fruits and veggies a day, I will drive my 8+ glasses of water, and I will exercise 10 minutes a day for at least 3 days for the next 7 days. I will actually follow the spark people diet and see what happens. Here's to getting a fresh start on my new year.

1. Lose 2 pounds in this next month.
2. Clean out and organize my kitchen, refrigerator, and pantry, in this next month. Restocking with healthier foods.
3. Buy a new wii fitness game and the batteries for the wiimotes, and balance board ;).
4. Do something just for me each day... even if it just a quite bath or 20 minutes of reading... I need to remember to treat me better.
5. Play board games or card games with my girls at least twice a week.... they are growing up too fast and playing with them is FUN.
6. Find a sitter and go out and about with my hubby.
7. Blog once a month with a new list or just update this one.

    Oh Tina, I can relate!! I joined in 2007, lost 45+ lbs, and gained back 35 of it. I'm back with "the program" now, too. Definitely headed in the right direction--praise God!! So, with that said--YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! We are on this journey together, my friend! Soli Deo gloria!

Day #2 of July

I have been a good girl with exercising this month. I started out with a 2.5 hour hike yesterday and today I am ST and heaving cleaning my house. If my hubby gets back soon enough tonight I might go for a bike ride today.

My personal challenge this month is...
1. No eating out AT ALL.
2. Exercising 60+ minutes every day.
3. Getting my house clean and keeping it that way.
4. Remembering to tell my girls that I am doing this to be healthy and cause it's fun NOT because I am fat. ( My 5-year-old told me she thought she was fat... I cried over an hour after that. No more of that in our house.).
5. Try my best to not get irritated with my awesome hubby. I truly love that man but as with everything when you have lived with someone almost 7 years little things start to bug you.
6. Start my volunteer work either at the SPCA or at H.E.L.P. I finally picked out my charity that I want to work with :).
7. Up the freggies intake. Drop the fat intake...the bad fats that is. I am really loving nuts.
8. Try and blog at least twice a week.
9. Get my 8 glasses of water a day.
10. Get my massage before the end of the month... this is my personal treat and I find that I haven't had back pain since starting these again.

Well enough blogging for today off to finish my dishes.
