My update on getting back on track

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

I am getting back on track after a six week hiatus due to work challenges and summer schedules. I have been to the gym both yesterday and this morning again. I am back to logging all food intake and tracking everything. Tracking works well for me. I still ate over mt calorie intake last night. After getting home instead of grabbing fruit or veggies as a snack prior to dinner, I made a turkey and cheese sandwich on a bun then ate dinner and had a bag of microwave popcorn for a snack. I typically do not snack after dinner at all and wasn't hungry bad choice. I have to commit to myself and not let extra calories sabotage me. I was down 20 pounds prior to this, and gained 3 back over the "break" I took. I am trying to just focus on my exercise program of 4 days a week and anything extra is a bonus and tracking everything I eat and really monitoring where I am. I am also focusing on getting my water in b/c when I do that, I am fuller longer. Also want to make sure to get in at least 3 veggies/fruits a day. I joined SparkCoach for a few months to help get me kick started. I like the program and I think it is helping now if I could take a SP Coach to the gym with me that would rock! Pray for me as I make these changes and I will pray for you as we make this journey. Thank you.

Need some mojo

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Hello Spark friends...I need to find my mojo again. It seems I have let "life" get in the way of my exercise routine. I think it is also summer because our schedules are not the same as in the school year; kid summer camp hours are different etc. Nonetheless I have not abandoned my healthy changes but I certainly have not been on par 100%. I am looking forward to the routine of school and to get back to my "normal" workout schedule. I really miss it and the structure and the benefits it provides. I have not been a total slump, but certainly have not worked out consistently like I was when hitting the gym. Who knew I would miss it? Nonetheless, I am still committed to myself and making changes. Any insight you experts can share to encourage and help me would be really appreciated. Have a wonderful day. I think I will hit the message boards a little late for some additional encouragement. Thanks for listening.

Good point CLSYLADY. I have to figure out how to do that my evenings are booked with cooking dinner etc. My son would love that though. Maybe we can just hit the playground and play basketball or kickball or something fun. Thank you

Since it is summer, get out and play, go for a swim, take a hike and enjoy nature. It may not be "hitting the gym" but it is exercise, a break from the norm and will get you some Vitamin D in the process. Have fun and enjoy!

1st week back to work post vacay

Friday, July 20, 2012

My 1st week back to work has been pretty good. It definitely has been a challenge getting back into the swing of things. Cooking has been a challenge but that is always the case for me lol. Lots to do this weekend to get caught up around the house and grocery shopping etc. Always something to do. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

OMG where have you been?

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Hello! Can't believe I have been away so long. I have been out of touch on vacation which was absolutely wonderful! We all had such a great time. I managed not to gain any weight on the cruise, thank God, but have not really worked out in over a month due to schedule, work and life...no good so back home and back committed to my program. I miss being on Spark and my SP friends. I hope you all are doing well and continuing strong on your weight loss journey.

With this project and fighting a bad cold my workouts have been sparse over the past 7 - 8 days. Looking forward to getting things back on track next week. I actually miss working out, but working 10+ hour days and getting up at 5am is not happening. I know my limits. I definitely notice a shift in my eating when not working out. Yesterday I ate 3 donuts, a huge sandwich for lunch choc chip cookies and a fruit yogurt parfait. Crazy calorie overload. I was over 500c over my daily limit. Wasn't hungry but food was there so I ate it. Not today!!!!! Anyway I hope you guys are all doing well on your programs and are enjoying your days.
