Today I went grocery shopping and to walmart. It wore me out and I fell asleep in the car. When we got home my husband helped me get to the bedroom. I kept running into the walls.

Today isn't a good day. The pain of neuropathy had me crying, the burning pain in my foot was so intense it feels like it is stuck in a fire for real. I had no enegry. I took two naps today and sat in the recliner the rest of the time. I am extra weak and my balance is worse.

Tomorrow I leave for UCSF for my neurological appointment. Will be back the following day due to the drive. It's my six month exam. Probably will need more MRI's due to all the decline that has happened.

Today's Accomplishments

Since the exercise room was done being painted, it was time to unpack the boxes of stuff I put away. Today was spent organizing DVD's, VHS, into groups like yoga, step aerobics, kettlebells, etc. Most of my weights went into a basket that I put on sliding disks under the TV.

My husband installed another shelf in the tv stand to hold the VCR today. I figure I can fit four more baskets to hold various workouts and exercise supplies in the TV stand. I like using them as it makes the room look decluttered and organized. I organized every single thing so I can find whatever I need. Before most of the exercise stuff was tucked in a drawer.

It is Joyful to be organized. Since I married my husband in 2009 my things have been tucked here and there without organization. The MS has been pretty severe limiting the amount of work that I have been able to do on any given day.

I have a chair in the closet that I can pull out for barre exercises. One day I would like to have one on the wall. I moved a bookcase out of the room to give me more floor space and the stack of books that were in it.

I put the power tower from cathe in the closet until I get strong enough to do the STS series again. The MS has taken away the strength that I gained from doing it. So I am back to square one.

I put into baskets in the TV stand the DVD's that I am going to be doing a rotation.

The last thing I did was make a pile of VHS and DVD's that are to be given away or traded.

The only negative today is my MS symptoms are getting worse. My legs buckled twice today. I would of fallen both times if my husband haden't caught me. My bladder isn't working right. I believe it is time to see a urologist.

So the room looks inviting, ready to use.

    It doesn't sound like you are letting MS get you down! You have done sooooo much work getting this space ready! It's also great that your hubby is so supportive and helpful in creating this special place for you!

    Sorry today wasn't so good in the MS department, but glad you got everything organized. I am like you, I like everything to have a place and to always be there. You save a lot of time looking for things and it is so much nicer looking. Great job.

Celebration Time !!!

Today my husband and I took a day off from painting and went to the lake. My balance was bad today I used an oar to help me wade in the water. The skies were clear blue, the sun was shinning. We saw a gagle of ducks and about 4 eagles flying high. We sat together on chairs in a quiet private cove eating watermellon with our feet in the water.

My legs were really weak today so I sat in the water in a chair and kicked my legs in various positions for exercise. I invented chair swimming !!! I also used the oar to row while sitting in the chair for arm exercises. I felt too weak to swim safely so that was my alternative. It is what we do with Multiples sclerosis, exercise to the best of our abilities. It was hard to walk when I was done doing my exercise. I had to get help to get back into the boat as I couldn't move my legs by then.

My husband is going to add a shelf to the TV stand before I can use it in the exercise room. That way I will have a shelf for the DVD/VCR player. It is placed in the corner of the room so I will have more room to workout.

I found some quotes that I will have made from wall words type website. They are vinal and you adhere them to painted surfaces. I think it will look nice for motivational sayings.

My bruises are finally showing up from my bad fall last week. I guess my tan was dark enough to cover up the bruises. Now that they are in the fading stage you can see some yellowish areas on my stomach and arms.

  The surroundings you describe are quite beautiful and the exercises you've figured out are very inventive.

When you mention that you couldn't move your legs after the exercise session, was that due to weakness, fatigue or both? How long does that last? Does the length or the intensity of the exercise have any effect on that, either positive or negative?

Today we will finish painting the exercise room. We are going to do the last two walls. So far this week I accompolished a lot. The dentist filled four teeth, the cat was vaccinated, I had a doctor's appointment, and we painted. I am going to get a sleep study done as I want a medication the doctor ordered to be covered by insurance. The medication provigil worked wonders for me at giving me enough enegry to function without making me hyper. I can't afford the cost of the medication $28.00 a day. Sigh, so a sleep study will be done to prove I have issues staying awake. I guess it is my time to take care of me.

Yesterday I ran out and found the perfect size basket for the vhs that I end up keeping. The lucky thing for me is it all fits just right like it was made for the TV stand that my husband made years ago.

I added a 15 pound kettlebell to the two lighter ones I have. At TJMax they had a Kathy Smith DVD for $4.00. At another store I found some more Slim in 6 series that I don't have, hula dancing, and bellydancing for a couple of bucks. The store wanted to push some strip tease dvds on me, I told them that wasn't my style.

I found some containers to make a homemade version of fitstixs for a couple of DVD's I have. They talk about fitstix on videofitness.com and how effective they are for the arms. At target I found a hanger big enough that will hold all my resistance bands.

I managed to do more running around yesterday by myself than normal. Usually the multiple sclerosis slows me down so much that I can't go to more than one or two stores.

    I hope that your sleep study goes well!. I did mine a couple of weeks ago. It did prove that I am excessively sleepy, but they are still deciding if I can have the medication because I do not have narcolepsy. I took my own pillow and it seemed to help me be more comfortable.
