New Year - New Beginning

Happy new year everyone. I've done okay since October with exercising and eating right. I started the "boot camp" challenge this week. Here's hoping it goes well. My goal is to do all the challenges. Here goes nothin'.

I guess it is official. I'm serious about this getting healthy and lose weight thing. I actually went running in the rain yesterday. It wasn't torrential or anything... just a light drizzle..... still, I'm pretty new to running so my 15 minute mile had me soaked by the time I finished. My husband was walking out the door to get the car to come look for me right when I finished. He had noticed it started raining and was going to come after me. How sweet is that!? After a hot shower and supper we went around to the church to decorate for Christmas. I was made chair of the "flower/decorating committee" this year, and even if I do say so myself.... the church looks great!

So my bathroom scale says I'm down 5 pounds.... but the scale at the Dr.'s office Monday said I've gained 5 pounds since last year. Grrrr. I'll go with my bathroom scale. It's the one I've been using on a regular basis.

So we had Tuesday off due to TS Ida. It remined me a lot of TS Faye last year... big threatening storm that just dumed a bunch of rain (and pine straw in my yard). I spend the day raking up the pine straw left by the overnight by the storm. The good news is, according to SparkPpl, I burned almost 1,000 calories in the process. The bad news is, today I can barely move.

So I ran the entire mile yester day! Jogged actually. And my time isn't the greatest, but I did it! And I'm getting better.... a couple more days of jogging the entire mile and I'll add some distance to my "run."

Plus - did I mention? . . .I'm down three pounds - which doesn't seem like a whole lot either, but 3 lbs is 3lbs and it 3lbs closer to my goal! emoticon
