I haven't really been on SP this year so the mileage tracking is now very behind. I have been tracking mileage with nike running though because it automatically uploads
300 lifetime miles completed! The goal is to run 300 mi this year, ambitious? Probably; however, I am 325 mi to the next Nike running level and though it's just an icon on my screen, it brings me happiness oddly enough. Hopefully I can finish those miles by July 1st. We shall see
This year, I'm really going to lose the weight, yeah, I say that every year, but it HAS to happen this year

I'm not really much of a runner.
But in three months, I'm going to have run 350 miles for the year 2012.
It's going to require training, determination, endurance, strength and a whole lot of moral support. Honestly, I'm not all that sure I can handle it.
But when I think of the millions of women and children who have to walk miles each day to collect water for their families, I think of how most of that hard-earned water isn't even clean. I think about how 30,000 people die each week from water-related diseases.
And then... yes. I'll run 24 miles each week. I can do it. But I need your help.
My goal is to raise $1000 for water projects. The best part: 100% of all donations go directly to water projects. You can pledge per mile, you can give a lump sum when I complete my 350 miles or you can just donate whatever and whenever you want in the next three months.
I've never done anything like this before. And I promise to do it without complaining. After all, I'll have fresh water to keep me going. That's more than millions around the world can ask for.
Please join me in helping them.
You can donate here:
What's really cool about charity water is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water project costs in the field, and they'll prove every single dollar. When the project we help fund is complete, they'll send us a digital completion report with GPS coordinates and photos of the community we helped.
Please help me raise $1000 by Dec 31, 2012. You can donate to my campaign here:

I recently learned that 800 million people around the world don't have access to clean, safe drinking water, and I'm doing something about it.
I'm raising money for clean water by running miles and matching each mile to a dollar until the deadline for the next 104 days! So far, I have 108.74 miles to match and 104 days left to match more miles!
Friends have helped me raise $425 on top of this amount to reach the campaign goal of $1000.
You can help me raise $1000 by Dec 31, 2012 by donating to my campaign here:

I reached 100 miles for 2012 this morning! :)
I felt unstoppable this morning when I went running.
woke up at 5
took my thyroid medication
waited 40 minutes
had a banana and a glass of chocolate almond milk
ran 4.4 miles
took the dogs out for a walk
In my feeling unstoppable
ran harder and faster (25-50s faster than the average of my past seven runs according to Nike)
managed to beat my previous 5k PR
burnt 527 calories
was patient with the doggies as they both wanted to sniff every mailbox and post on the way
Being so close to 100 mi was very motivating to run harder and faster and feel unstoppable
Overall, a great start to a Friday :)

I know that in the past couple years, I've been off again on again with my being motivated to be healthy and lose weight. This year, I've been off again and on again as well but I think I've been better in a way. For the holidays, my sister gave me a present that I didn't realize how much I would love. It was a Nike+ sportband with the footpod.
Seeing my accomplishments with the Nike tracker has made me want to exercise and want to run. I remember hating the mile around the track when I was in high school. It felt like crap and I hated being around people who could run it and quickly. Today, I look back and think "How could I have ever thought that running a mile was so hard?" Today, I look at my Nike+ tracker activity and it makes me smile. It makes me smile because I am close to 100 miles. Yes, I know I could have been better and could have accomplished those miles months ago if I had been better about my exercise. Still, for the past couple weeks, I have been looking at how much closer I've been getting to the 100 miles and it has motivated me more and more. As of today, I am at 95.91 miles (4.09 miles away from 100 miles for the year!)! Yesterday, I didn't finish my run from my training schedule. I was behind by a mile and thought today "pssh, it's just a mile, I can do that in 10-12 minutes! Then, I'll be that much closer to it and can definitely finish the 100 miles by Saturday!"
I'm looking at my 95.91 miles right now and thinking, I can't wait until I go running tomorrow to get even closer, and I can't wait until Saturday so I can celebrate! There is NO way I'm going to be cheated of my 100 miles by Saturday. There will be a celebration on Saturday because I will finish the 100 miles by then. I'm too close to not. After that, I can look forward to the next 150 miles by some other date that I will choose later because I'm currently too excited about the 100 miles!
