Have let myself down!! but now back on track

Friday, August 07, 2009

Hi to all my friends out there, sorry I have not been around to encourage and support you all.
I hope each and every one of you are doing great and still on track with the goals you have set yourselfs.
Sadly I have to confess that I have gotten off track this week. I have been dealing with some nasty family issues and for the first few days, food wise I was handling it quite well, sadly the past 4 days I have not.
The problem is still there but getting better thank goodness, and I am once again back on the right road.
Because I know this has not been a good week for me I am not going to weigh in cause that would just upset me right now, so I will leave the weigh in for now and just get back on track recording my food and exercise.
Take care and best wishes to you all
Grace

Sometimes you just need to practice self comfort. As long as you get back on track in a reasonable amount of time, there's no reason to suffer.

Welcome back on the journey.. I too have had a fall and not been doing well, but I keep myself motivated so I don't totally give up.. It is so easy to fall, getting up is the hard part my friend. I will reach your way and help and maybe that will steady me in the meantime. Best of luck to you!

We've been missing you and I was about to send out the posse to try to find out what FUN or trouble you were getting yourself into. I figured that Steelercrazy or CartoonB had kidnapped you and, who knows what those girls could or would do with you, LMAO

Glad you are OK, getting back on track, is the SP way. You haven't done anything that the rest of your friends haven't done! I've been busy with house work and had worried where my "goodstuff" poster was.

Have a great weekend

Good on you for picking yourself up and keeping going!!!!!! Emotional issues are really difficult to deal with on top of SP demands!!!!

LEaving the weigh in is a really good idea.

too. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I weighed in this week - after eating hardly anything and exercising every day to find I had put on 800 grams!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

It was really demoralising - I have been trying to figure out what went wrong!!!!

But I am going to have to get myself up and keep going on the weight loss quest!!!

You were a wonderful motivation for me when I joined SP, so if there is anything i can do to assist, ask away!!!!

Take Care Tiggakitten. I hope things with family are happier!!!

Sorry you have had a rough week, however glad to hear that things are looking up.

Thrilled to read that you are back on track! That is SO hard to do (I know, I've been there). Pat yourself on the back kiddo. I think you are wise not to weigh yourself - wait until next week and just keep thinking that "today is a new day"

Good luck to you!!! You can do it!!

The Scales

Friday, July 17, 2009

I went and weighed in this morning as I usually do once a week at my Dr's rooms and to my delight I had dropped another 3kg (6.6lbs).
Then I had a panic attack for about 5 minutes, this is a lot of weight to lose in such a short time. ( Today is the start of my 14th week and I have lost 26kg (57.3lbs) So I spoke with my Dr's nurse and told her what I had been up to( meals per day and and exercise) and asked what she thought?
She said as long as I am feeling good, carry on.
So I felt better after that and I realise this type of weight loss is not going to last forever and to go back to my game plan of one day at a time.

Oh, definitely be proud of yourself, Gracie. This weight loss is nothing to sneeze at! No, as a nurse, I can tell you that as long as you're feeling great and feisty, you're cool. And the scale may slow down after awhile but don't get flustered...you're losing a lot of water right now along with the other stuff. You're doing wonderful. You're an inspiration to me and everyone else. Love ya, girl. You're really awesome!

    Grace,
That is just FANTASTIC!!! You must have been thrilled to bits! Some weeks it comes off faster than others, but usually balances out. Remember this week of 6.6 lbs for the weeks when it's 2 lbs! A loss is a loss, no matter what. I notice that the scale drops quicker for me when I'm really good about drinking my water (I try for 7 bottles--14 cups a day). It helps flush out the extra salt for me, which I tend to carry. It's great that you asked the nurse about it too and got reassurance from her. Now you can keep doing what you're doing, knowing you're doing it all right!!

    Wow! That is wonderful. Congrats!
Not that I have ever had a problem losing that quickly, but my Dr. said as long as it 'averages' to 2-3 pounds a week over a year, it's fine. I'd rather have 6 than 3...or 3 than 1...but really I'll take what I can get!

You know you are losing weight when your skirt falls down!

Thursday, July 16, 2009

OMG yes it's true, I went to take my mother to visit one of her friends and was helping her get out of the car--- then it happened my skirt fell down. emoticon
What's a girl to do I pulled it back up and told everyone I will not pay for their therapy sessions, after seeing such a sight and endured listening to my sister crack up laughing.
3 guesses on who is never going to live this one down, and who has to go shopping.
I'm sharing this cause yes it is funny and two because something good came out of this embrassing moment -new clothes! and a smaller me.

I wonder wither I should slap him or not?

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

My partner knows I'm working hard at changing my lifestyle to a healthier one and the other day he came up with, I can't be happy been the size I am.
For the love of god he does not get that my size does not make me the person that I am.
Yes I am happy with who I am and where I am.
Yes I have to admit that I am happier today with the size I am now than 3 months ago, when I was the size I was then.
Yes I will be even happier tomorrow with what I can achieve then.
BE HAPPY WITH YOUR SELF, yes I do not like been big and I am doing something to change that, at the same time I am happy been me!
My best wishes to everybody out there on achieving your goals towards a healthier you.

here here steelercrazy Just ignore him sometimes men dont really know how the things they say affects us. They justsay it and forget where as us ladies never forget these things ! My husband says things like that all the time instead of actively trying to encourage me. Just keep going you will get to that healthier place you want to be. Well done !! emoticon

I think he feels threatened. Will you still want him when you're slim and sexy? My hubby does the same thing, only he brings home doughnuts and candy bars. Mind you, the ONLY time he does this is when he knows I'm trying to lose weight. He's just a little insecure. Hang in there, he will get it...eventually...

TXMOMY929 7/14/2009 9:13PM

True that. You can't slap him. Men are like dogs, he won't remember why he;s being slapped if you don't do it right away. emoticon

I have a picture of me in college. I think I weighed 140, I don't know. I tell you I am smokin'! I have a tiny little waist and all curves. And I can remember clearly that night. The dress I was wearing was a 10/12 (what is with a slash in sizes anyway, it has to be either a 10 OR a 12). I felt awful. I felt fat, and ugly, and unhappy.

Now sometimes I see a picture of myself and I think yikes, hide those arms girl! But I never remember those kinds of feelings. I think -- oh that was in Cozumel. That was such a great day. It rained and I stood out there taking pictures like a nut job.

I am happier about the me I am now than the me I was then. I have a better me-image. Sure gift wrapping may have been prettier then but the package is better now.

    Grace,
My first response was to SLAP THE CRXP out of him. But then I decided that Steelercrazy is right. You know the right way to deal with him. Sometimes we speak BEFORE we think. I'm as guilty as the next guy of that too. Sometimes we just don't realize what we are saying and other times we are in a fog of what "others" might be feeling. We can never really know what someone else is feeling until we walk a mile in their shoes. Good luck and hang in there. Sometimes my DW will make a dining decision or a shopping decision that I don't agree with. But you know, the decision was not made in disregard of our new healthy lifestyle change, sometimes we just revert back to our old ways "to easily" and other times we just might crave something of the past.

You can do this!
Tony
ps, thanks for bringing a smile to MY face today.

Maybe he is feeling threatened, thinking that a new you will affect things between the two of you. It's about you and about getting healthy. My thought on that is it come along with me on my journey and encourage me along the way, if not move to the side and allow me to get to where I am going!!!! Now is not the time for us to be dealing with negativity and people putting road blocks (cake, candies etc) in our path ~ if you want to give me something along my journey make it a rose or a pat on the back. Keep your head up, it's about you and your continued success along your journey. Keep up the great work ~ you are doing awesome.

Hey Grace, the first instinct is to slap him. LOL! But don't. Some people just don't get it. Why, I don't know. I must admit there are times I think I'll be happier at 120 than what I am now, but if I hadn't gained weight I wouldn't have the friends that I have now. AND I KEEP MAKING MORE FRIENDS the longer I am on here!

I just love your attitude...we can all learn something from you, you know. I think you're pretty daggone amazing, Grace.
