1/4 of the goal

Last week I hit -25 lbs so i'm 1/4 of the way to my goal. Now I'm looking forward to saying "1/3" "1/2" 3/4 etc.
I honestly didn't think I'd make it this far even- I have a tendency to give up and get discouraged easily. I think it's helping that I'm being public about this process and post on twitter when I go down another pound. I know there was a male blogger who actually posted his daily weight and while that's brave of him, that's something I never could.
I'm guessing I'll slip someday (if ever) I get to my goal weight I might mention it. Or at least a range and simple math will lend itself to what I weighed in March when I started this. Which even then was probably not the heaviest I ever was although I was approaching that point again.
Public encouragement and general self vanity is helping me through this process. There are a lot of things I think I'm doing right but maybe that's for another blog post :)

    I think 1/5 is an excellent breakdown. I never thought of it that way... stopping to cheer along this journey at milestones! Good for you!

so after the plateau & the +3, i'm back at having lost 19.
so pleased. Have to make sure to not give up.

What's helping is i went through a bunch of old clothes and found a dress I bought 4-5 years ago. It's a size 18 which at the time was 2 sizes too small. Tried it on today and it FITS! I'm still a little lumpy underneath it, but holy moley was I excited to be able to zip that baby up!!!

I plateaued for a bit. And then *gained* 3 lbs.
And i've been good! seriously! So disappointed with myself, but now i'm heading back in the right direction, i think.
I had wanted to lose 25 lbs before the end of june but I doubt that's happening. I keep hovering around the -18/-19 mark.
so frustrating.

    emoticon on the weight you have lost. We have those times when we go through a plateau. Try to change up your routine a little and see if that helps. You have done great and you will get the rest done. Believe in yourself.

I haven't slid back- in fact if i believe my scale, I'm now down 12-13 lbs depending on which spot on the bathroom floor I slide my scale (interestingly, it's never consistent- the spot that made me the lightest a few days ago may not yield the same results!) but there was one day where I magically *gained* 4lbs. I suspect it was water retention, but man! What a downer! I think I may have powered through it, but I felt so upset! What are some of your tricks for not giving up on yourself?

    Tricks for not giving up? Give your body your full attention... focus on every meal, adding the water, start the exercise. I'm at a spot where I need to break it down to the basics again. Just when I thought I had it nailed, bam! detours and side steps. But I can't give up, I just won't. Every day is a new beginning, an opportunity to make it right. [uh, sorry, self pep talk here!]
