Next Goal

Last week, I focused on drinking more water everyday. I've accomplished that by drinking at least 32 ounces of water everyday. Most days I drank 64 ounces.
This week, I'm going to focus on taking my lunch to work daily. I've realized most of my weight comes from eating in the car and eating out for lunch.
Day one of taking lunch to work was a success: Grilled tilapia, couscous, and stir fried prince edward medley. YUM!YUM!

    I've always read and heard how it is more helpful to lose weight by using the buddy system. SparkPeople is making that a reality for me.

    Packing my own lunches made a huge difference in my life. However I cannot credit it all to self dicipline. A few years ago I changed jobs and this job is in just remote enough of a location that there really is no practical option for eating out for lunch. So I must pack or go hungry. I am so glad. At the last job there were a dozen different fast food and pizza joints withen a 5 minute drive. I was eating out for lunch way too much!

    Thanks everyone. I know that slow and steady is the way to go. Been there, done that with all of the quick fixes. I'm ready to get off this weight roller coaster.

I didn't reach my weight goal for 2012, but I'm not deterred. Work, busy lifestyle, and health concerns temporarily sidetracked me, but I'm back at it. I will take 2013 one day at a time and focus on one goal at a time.
I have figured out how to incorporate work skills into my weight loss. During counseling sessions, I often encourage clients to change one bad habit at a time. I will now use that skill to retool my weight loss.
This week I will focus on drinking more water. I know that once I get into the good habit of drinking more water daily, it will become second nature to me.
Good luck to me and others as we continue on our healthy lifestyle journey.
