Yesterday, I did my first "real" strength workout, meaning, 3 sets of each exercise and 3 exercises per body part. I did Chest, Tri's and Abs. I followed it with a 30 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session on the Arc Trainer. I felt great during the workout and felt great the rest of the day!
Got my Singular and Inhaler, and ready to see if it makes a difference. Eating has been on point! Having a wonderful cheat meal tonight at a favorite restaurant, Harry's Seafood (New Orleans food) Restaurant. We're staying overnight about an hour away so we can get up and watch some friends do the Ironman 70.3 Event tomorrow morning!
So not only have I now signed up for my first Triathlon, but I've talked 5 running friends into doing it too for their first! I'm part of Black Girls Run Tampa, so a bunch of us are planning to do it together! It will be fun!
Just excited about life!

Today I went to the Pulmonary doctor and he strongly felt that I have Exercise Induced Asthma (EIA). Honestly I was so excited to hear that. I posted it in my Facebook Running Friends Group and found many runners suffer from this but from medication (inhaler & Singulair) it's manageable. So that means I can work out full force once I get my medication (picking up tomorrow).
Today I worked legs and did a HIIT session. It went great but had the shortness of breath afterwards. Hopefully Doctor is right and once I take meds, will be fine. I'm very optimistic!
This morning, someone posted about a local Sprint Triathlon for women only so I checked it out. I re-posted it and said something like "I may consider this", since I've considered doing a Tri but not seriously. Well one thing led to another and there was a woman selling her entry (for the lowest fee plus a bike jersey that was no longer offered), so I got it! I have officially registered for my first Triathlon!!!
It's a Super Sprint, and a reverse, so 5k run, 9.25 bike, then 225 yard Pool swim so it's perfect to start! And it's 4 days after my birthday so it will be my 44th birthday present to me! I have a month to borrow a bike and figure out swimming lol but I know I can do it!
Hope everyone had a great day!

Last week was a little setback, and I ran a 5k on Saturday which was a big mistake (due to my condition, my back hurt so bad when I breathed as I ran). But I finished the race so that was good. My appointment with a Pulmonary Doctor is tomorrow, and I'm anxious to see what he says.
In the meantime, on Friday, a Personal Trainer/Bootcamp Instructor friend of mine was doing a last minute enlisting of people for her 6 week Transformation Challenge, and I found out a friend of mine wanted to do it but didn't have a partner. So I figured, it would give me the incentive/goal I needed. And even though I can't work out like I want to, I know winning will be 70-80% diet. So I signed up and started Monday.
I decided to pull out some meal plans from when I trained for my Figure Competition 2 years ago. I did a 15 minute weight workout yesterday and was able to do a 30 minute HIIT Cardio session today (on a lower much setting than I would normally do). Since I'm so competitive, I'm determined to do everything I can within my limits to win!
So today is Day 3 of the Challenge and I'm feeling great!

Today I scheduled an appointment with a Pulmonologist, just to make sure I have this Costochondritis and to see if there's anything that can be done to speed up the healing process. So no workout today because of the breathing issues.
However, just because I can't workout doesn't mean I don't get at least 30-60 minutes of walking in each and every day! I'm not just going to sit on the couch. And now is the time to really pay attention to my nutrition, since diet is 80% of results.
Saw this article about sodas I thought I'd share. I've never been much of a soda drinker (I get a craving for a Dr. Pepper 2-3 times a year but that's it), but I know many people love them and this is good info:
Hope everyone had as wonderful a day as I've had! Enjoying Yahweh's perfect present!
New Motto: If I can't race, grateful to run, if I can't run, grateful to walk, if I can't walk, grateful to be alive, if I'm not alive I won't know it!

The Costochondritis was really acting up today, lots of breathing issues and got some kind of virus from my husband who got it from my nephew, so let's just say I've spent much of the past 24 hours in a small room of my house lol. So my training will have to wait a moment but that's okay, I am not discouraged! How can I be when I get to wake up every day and choose to smile! Hope you had a great day!
