Not much to report today. Had a good 2 mile run, then workout with my trainer Stefani. Did 20 one-armed pushups today, twice as many as last time so that's good progress! Eating's going well. Knee's feeling good. Less than 11 days until the Half-Marathon, I'm so excited! Once it's done, I'll really jump into building more muscle tone! It was a good day today!
P.S. Oh yeah, I made Fudge Brownies from the SP recipe - they were delicious!!!
Just enjoying the process!

Haven't blogged in a bit, so I thought I'd check in. I've been busy the past couple weeks finishing my Fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through Team in Training. This was my first fundraising attempt, and I had to raise $1,800. I'm happy to say I met and exceeded my goal one day short of the deadline - Yay!!! I feel really good raising money for such a good cause!
My first Half-Marathon is two weeks from tomorrow! Woo Hoo! Ran 10 miles today, last long run before the race! After my 11 mile run a couple weeks ago, I had knee pain, so I went to the doctor and I have "Runner's Knee" so they gave me some velcro "braces" to wear. I feel like when running people should shout "Run Forrest Run!" :-) But they definitely help! The run today was good. Not in too much pain, and even if I was, I'm not going to tell myself that I feel it! :-) I feel good about finishing the Half in around 2 hrs 30 min. That's the goal!
Yesterday, I had another cool milestone! Last time it was being able to do one-arm pushups. Yesterday it was being able to do 10 narrow grip pullups on my own! That's been another goal of mine! I'll conquer the wide grip pullup before the end of the year though! Getting stronger!!!
Eating has still been going well. Did my measurements on the 1st as normal, and body fat is under 23% now! Yay! Goal is to be at 20% by end of year.
So I get back this morning from the run and check my email, and I see I have like 40+ emails from Sparkpeople! And so many people congratulating me for being MOD. I kept wondering what's this about and what's MOD? Then I finally got it when reading my regular Sparkmail that my page was shown as a Motivator of the Day. LOL! How exciting! I can't thank everyone enough for the wonderful comments. So many people on Sparkpeople have motivated me SO much to keep going, so I'm grateful others have found me to be motivating as well. How did we live without Sparkpeople all these years???
I'm so thankful to my Spark Family! When I had no one to work out with or start eating healthy with or train with when I started this journey at the beginning of the year, I had my Spark Family! Sparkpeople and the Spark Family have truly been a motivator!
I'm still enjoying the process...how about you?

I haven't checked in in a while so I thought I'd catch up.
I had a little injury from running which kept me from running for two weeks, so that wasn't great. But I'm feeling better now, and am looking forward to my 11 mile run tomorrow. I'm going to run really slow and probably walk some as well. I don't want to overdue it. I'm looking forward to running with the Team in Training group again. 29 days until the Half-Marathon!
Had another exciting thing happen recently. The found of Sparkpeople, Chris Downie, is speaking at the I Can Do It! Conference at the Tampa location next month. Jenny, who is in marketing and PR for Sparkpeople, sent a general email asking for success stories, and I sent her an email with a little about my story, and she's asked me to speak for 5 minutes at the event about my success and how Sparkpeople has helped with it. I'm so excited about this, and yet a little intimidated, because I would think they'd rather have someone who's lost 100 lbs or something really dramatic like that. So I feel very honored. They're going to make a video of my story and everything for the event! Wow! So I told my trainer to really lay it on thick for my next few weeks' workouts! :-) I really am excited and so humbled to even be chosen for this. My goal is to do all my Sparkfriends proud! Funny thing about the date of the event, it's the same day as my first Half-Marathon, so I'll finish the 13.1 miles, then be gurneyed in to the event that afternoon! Should be fun!
And on another exercise exciting note, I've had a couple of fitness goals, 1) to be able to do at least one wide-grip pull-up by the end of the year, and 2) to be able to do a one-armed push-up. Well, I'm still working on the pull-ups, but today, after not exercising for two weeks, I was able to do 10 one-armed regular push-ups on each arm!!! I couldn't believe it! My trainer had me do 5 with my knees on the floor first, then she said to straighten my legs. I just laughed at and her and said "You've got to be kidding me!" But I DID IT!!! It felt awesome! Gotta admit, I felt like Demi Moore in G.I. Jane!!! Ha ha!
I'm still enjoying the process and hope you are as well!

This morning I ran 10 miles, the longest distance I've ever run! I was so excited about doing it! I ran with the Team in Training group, and was at the front of the pack! I ran the entire way and felt great! I ran my 10 miles faster than I ran 9.3 miles back in Feb!
Half-Marathon's in 42 days! 13.1 here I come!
My personal trainer told me to increase my calories from 1500 to 1700 based on the exercise I'm doing. I can't believe how hard it's been to do this! I just feel full all the time. A year ago, 2500 was my daily minimum!!! My how things change! But for the good, thankfully!
I just feel good in all areas of my life, spiritually, my marriage, physically, my business is going really well, I just have no complaints. And I believe it's mainly because I've decided to have nothing but a positive attitude about life! I'm thankful and grateful.
And I'm still enjoying the process!

A just got an email that I received enough votes to be a Spark Motivator. I wasn't even really aware of how that happened. It's a great feeling to accomplish things for yourself, but it means so much more to know you help motivate and inspire others. One of the reasons I know I'll NEVER go back to the way I was is because I feel like I've become a role model of sorts for some, so I have to be a good example, which is a win-win for me and others. This was just such a humbling honor, I can't even tell you.
I was reading my Sparkpage where I wrote that I just wanted to be in the single digit sizes, and 8 or 6, and now here I am fitting into some 4's. :-) Wow! I still can't believe it. I got bra fitted on Wednesday and I couldn't believe I was fitting in this tiny looking bra! I was used to wearing 36DD and now I'm 34D. When you look at the two bras side by side, it's AMAZING!
I've decided that I'm actually happy with my weight at this point. I figure I don't mind getting down to 125, but because I'm focused on really developing muscle, I don't know if 120 might be too much to go down to. But I know I still want to lose the rest of that tummy fat and get more upper body definition, so I'm more focused on getting my body fat to under 20%, then I should be good.
Training for the Half-Marathon is going well. I run 9 miles tomorrow. Haven't done that since I did the 15K in February, and I was 20 lbs heavier then. Less than 8 weeks before the race! I'm excited! Plus I've been training with Team in Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and raising money for the cause, and that has been very rewarding! (If would like to donate or read my blog there, my Fundraising page is:
Anyway, not meaning to ramble on, but thank you to all who voted for me! I vote for many as well. I'm just so glad my friend Terri told me about Sparkpeople last December! It's been the best thing to help me in my healthy journey! Thanks to you all for your support!
Isn't it great to enjoy the process?
