Day 2 of SSC!

Things are going well! I've been hearing from several participants! I think using Sparkpeople was the best resource to use! I just know we're going to have some incredible and emotional testimonies at the final weigh-in! We officially have 37 people in the challenge, a perfect number!

Had a great workout today! The elliptical is a great workout! Tomorrow I'm meeting with Stefanie, personal trainer! It's going to be brutal based on our initial time together! But I'm up for the challenge!

It's been a great day! Hope yours was too!

Day 1 of Summer Shape-up Challenge ("SSC")

Well had a lot of interaction with participants today! People seem really motivated! I had a longer day than usual at the office, but it was productive.

Ended up working out after 8pm. I'm not a fan of late workouts, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get it done! Had an awesome workout! This is the best strength training routine I've ever had! And I used the Glider again. That is such a kick-butt machine! Burning over 100 calories every 10 minutes is awesome!!!

My body fat dropped from 27.2 from beginning of last month to 25.6 as of today! Woo Hoo! I was so excited to see that, since it was over 35% in December!!! I didn't even think it was possible for me to drop that much body fat in such a short time. But it's been about time and consistency.

I'm so determined to really compete in this challenge! Really watching the food intake and focusing eating as clean as possible.

For some the participants in the SSC, many of them have already been an inspiration to me just by their focus and determination to do this!

Well, that's enough for tonight! You know I'm enjoying the process! Hope you are too!

    Not too long ago I was so not interested or motivated to get myself back on track after not working out for so many years.

I have to thank you Tia, because even though I joined Shapes prior to the challenge, I truly believe that the challenge has motivated me.

I don't love the process but I do love how I feel once I've completed my workout.

I am keeping my picture from 24 years ago (in a bikini) on my desk and hey if Valerie Bertinelli can do a magazine cover in a bikini I believe I can strive to wear one in public.

My current weight is 204 and my short term goal is to reach 190 by July 3rd. emoticon

Wow! Challenge has started!

Well tonight was the first group weigh-in of the Tampa Summer Shape-up Challenge! My goal was to have 20, and we had 33 who got started tonight! WooHoo! I haven't really slept in two days thinking about starting this and having everything prepared for the first weigh-in and it went well. Teamwork was awesome! Group was split between people I knew and had never met, which makes it even better! It's a great group of motivated people, from age 13 to 68 and all in between! I'm so proud of everyone! It's going to be an awesome 90 days!

I just know people will have breakthroughs, definining moments and most importantly, RESULTS! Including myself! This is great!

Definitely enjoying the process!

Getting healthier every day!

Been on SP almost 5 months now and am totally addicted! I hope to introduce at least 20 new people to the site in the next week through the Summer Shape-up Challenge.

I wore my size 8 shorts today and they were LOOSE - yay! Just in December was wearing size 12. Loving seeing progress! I hope to be in a comfortable size 6 in the next month! If I get to a 4 that's cool, but I'll be happy with a 6!

The Challenge is coming up in just a few days! I get more and more excited each day!

Personal Trainer - Ouch!

I worked with a personal trainer for the first time yesterday. I can definitely see the value! We went through one set of what she recommended I do, and I'm SO sore today in my traps, lats, tri's and core! OMG! We did stuff I'd never done before. It was awesome! I'm up for the challenge!

On my Summer Shape-up Challenge, I'm so excited because we hit the 50 mark! Now I realize that come Sunday, there won't be 50 that show up, but at least 50 expressed interest so we should have 30-40! This is beyond what I would have expected. This is going to be a great summer!!!

    I LOVE my personal trainer! Well, I hate him when he is making new muscles hurt, but I love that he doesn't let me give up. Stick with her. You'll see progress you never imagined.

    A summer shape up challenge sounds so great. I wish I was closer so I could participate. Since I lost my job, I've been really bad about doing any cardio and I would love to get out of the house for a good reason.
Hope you continue to enjoy the personal training.
