Spark Teams are Awesome! I'm so grateful!

Thursday, April 02, 2009

I'm trying to keep track of all the teams I'm on! I get so much out of so many of them! My Eating Clean Team is teaching me a better way of eating, which I found I've mainly been doing most of this year. My Iron Maidens Team gives me tips on my strength training which I love. My 100 Pushups Team keeps me motivated to complete the goal. My BBQ Teams are just awesome and full of general support and love. My location teams are great for community! My Running Team helped me get through the 15K and beyond. My Age based Teams show me I'm not alone at this stage in my life. SP has been such a blessing for me in so many ways. Prior to SP, I felt alone with my journey, but now I feel surrounded by like minded people all on a similar journey! Just thankful!

Although I am not involved in too many teams, I agree with the support they provide! I think SP is such a wonderful site - the support IS fantastic! Perhaps your comments on your teams will encourage me to seek out a few more emoticon

This is fun!

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Had grueling workout yesterday, did triceps, biceps and back, did 140 pushups and over 30 min of cardio. It felt good though! I'm sore today, but not too bad. Got up and ran 2.5 miles at a relaxed pace. Want to make sure I'm not overtraining and need to make sure I'm eating enough. The eating clean is easier than I thought. I haven't had to change anything so far!

I was able to get a good friend on SP today. It feels so good to inspire others! I finally feel like what I'm doing is "what I do" versus just a temporary thing. This is my life and I love it!!!

OMG! 140 push-ups! I just started the hundred push-ups challenge and 140 seems so far away? What kind of push-ups were you doing, "good form", "alternate" or some other variation?

New Challenges

Monday, March 30, 2009

Today was my first day Eating Clean, and it wasn't bad. Not as hard as I thought, and the best part is that I've been pretty much eating clean for a few months now. So it's not requiring a lot of changes which is good. And I'm ramping up my strength training this week. Want to make sure I'm eating enough. That's actually been hard to do which is hard for me to believe. I'm trying to stay at the top of my calorie range and still get enough protein, etc. I'll get it down soon. Did Week 4 Day 2 of the 100 push up challenge, still on track there. No weight loss for two weeks, but I'm okay with it. Life is good!!!

Naked Lady Party - Awesome for us SP!

Friday, March 27, 2009

I wanted to blog about this, because I think for so many on SP, this is the perfect for getting new clothes in our "in-between" stages. A Naked Lady Party (NLP) is a girlfriend clothing swap.

Basically you invite several friends to your home or a neutral place and ask everyone to bring at least 3 items (clothes, accessories, shoes). Have some appetizers (healthy of course :)). Organize clothes by either type (shirts, dresses, etc.) or by size (I think this is easier), and when ready, everyone starts "shopping". If at a home, use bedrooms/bathrooms as changing rooms and at the end, have everyone show what they got and model their favorite outfit. Whatever is left gets donated to a charity. It's a lot of fun and many people leave with a complete new wardrobe!

Very inexpensive way to get "new" clothes before you're at your goal size. I don't know about you, but I don't want to buy clothes and in 2-3 months, buy a smaller size again. So this is a great fix! My sister hosts these parties every six months. Hope this was helpful! If anyone has one, would love to hear about it! - Tia

Making Big Changes

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Well, I'm going to start to Eat Clean, now that I know what it is. I really want to lose the fat for good and really build some toned muscles, so it looks like this is the way to go. I eat about 80% clean anyway, just need to pick up my fruits. I'm so determined to get into my 2001 picture outfit (on my Spark page) by my birthday. I haven't worn that outfit since 2002, but I love it so much, it's been the only outfit I haven't given up on getting back into. Everything I've given away.

Most of my pants are hanging off of me now but I'm not going to get any alterations done until June. I'll just use safety pins in the meantime, plus I'm going to a Naked Lady Party next month so I'll probably get a full new wardrobe there without paying anything for it!

Just enjoying the process...
