Being a Personal Trainer - not for me!

Today I helped show a friend how to use the machines at her gym. She's been doing a lot of cardio, but hadn't realized how strength training can play an important part in her weight/fat loss. I used to wonder if I'd like being a personal trainer, and now I know. While I enjoyed helping my friend, I quickly got bored of watching someone else work out when I wanted to work out. I would help a friend out any time, but don't think I'd want to train people for a living. I give props to those who do it because it's definitely something needed. Hoping my friend gets on SP soon too! I did end up getting my workout in later, and had a great one. Kicked my butt!

  Funny you should mention this in your post... I was just looking over a brochure for fitness instructor training. I was wondering if it would be something I would enjoy doing in the evenings and on the weekends just to bring in extra cash. I didn't think about the fact that it might take away from my own workouts though... good insight!

Working out With Hubby - Finally!

I went running with my husband this evening. This is the first time we've ever run together, mainly because I could never come close to keeping up. He runs an 8 minute mile. But today, we ran together. I wasn't as fast as he would normally go, but was fast enough that he stayed with me. It was incredible.

Great start to the week!

I was actually at my office 9 hours today! Haven't done that in FOREVER!!! I don't typically workout in the morning on Mondays because of going to the office, and since I got home SO late, the last thing I wanted to do was work out. I was going to change Monday to my normal "day off", but something inside just couldn't do it. Plus I'm on Day 3 of my three week 100 pushup challenge. So at 9:20pm, I decided to work out. Did some cardio and 45 min of strenth training.

Got my hubby involved in doing the 100 pushup challenge with me. It was great. We were equally exhausted at the end of the 5 sets. That's a big deal because he's in awesome shape with the six pack abs, etc. So it really made me feel good (Plus I finished before he did - ha ha). It's blowing my mind that I can do this many pushups (5 sets tonight totalling 120).

This morning I went into my closet and found 4 pairs of pants that I had put up on the closet shelf because they were too tight. They've been there for over a year, maybe two. So when I tried them on, they were actually a little loose!!! Yay!!! But no alterations until I'm at my ideal size. Got a ways to go, but I'm going. Scale was not friendly to me today, no weight lost or gained - same. But still feeling good.

Ended up having a great day and workout and I know I'll sleep good! Hit all my nutritional goals today too, so I would say it was a great Monday!!!

Not sure what happened today, but I really wanted to eat everything in the house today! I did have self control, but it made me cranky! Went walking with a friend since it was such a nice day, so got good cardio in at least.

Feel like I need to step it up to see better results! Gotta hit my goal by my birthday! I WILL DO THIS!!! But scared of getting on the scale tomorrow...

    emoticon on resisting temptation but remember.. even if you haven't lost a pound just think how far you've come this week, that is just as important if not more so.

    Girllll I know where you're coming from. I feel like that sometimes. It's almost like an appetite attack or eating fever comes on you. You will feel cranky too, I do too. Good that you pressed through and went for a walk. Congratulations on goodt self control. So proud of you. That's what it takes sometimes to just do an activity. I bet when you finished walking you weren't very hungry. Success on the scale tomorrow. I weigh in Tuesday, and I'm nervous too. Keep up the good work.

Joining a new gym

Well I joined Shapes Gym today. Have been at Anytime Fitness for two years and love it, but really wanted the option to go to classes and have the group experience, and the pre-sale price is same as I pay at AF. They had a free Zumba class. Was fun, but didn't get my heart rate up enough, so I ran afterward.

They took my measurements and I saw a nice improvement even since the beginning of this month! Woohoo!

Still enjoying the journey...

    I joined a gym today too. I joined LA Fitness. They have water aerobics classes and I love them. I also recently began taking a Zumba class once a week. It's fun.
