Fake It Till You Make It!

My sister in law gave me some books a few weeks ago and there just so happened to be two Biggest Loser books... They have sat for the last few weeks under my desk, collecting dust. This last week though I have gotten some inspiration.

One of my best friends and I were talking about why we weren't working out and whatnot, and we both said the reason we weren't being healthy was because we didn't feel like we were worth it. I guess it turned on a light switch.

I just keep thinking about her feeling not good enough and I KNOW that she is worth it. So I guess I have been trying to prove to myself that if she's worth it then I should treat myself like I'm worth it too. And maybe, I'll fake it till I make it true and maybe she'll get some motivation..?

I wish that I could tell her how awesome she is and have her know that she IS worth it and so much more, but I know that it's something that she has to deal with.

For now, I am doing the Biggest Loser diet. Today was my second day and I've done pretty good... I hope it sticks :-)

I don't even know you and I would tell you the same exact thing as above! YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Fake it till you make it is a GREAT place to start. Once you get your momentum going, challenge yourself, educate yourself on food,fitness and nutrition, there will be no stopping YOU!

Starting Over, Getting Back On Track

So, while I was pregnant, all 9 months, I was so determined to get back on track right after Riley was born... And now, here she is 3 months old and I'm not on track. I keep over eating or eating things that aren't good for me, and I hate it. I'm breast feeding Riley and I know that no matter what I eat, she will get the vitamins she needs and it'll be MY body lacking and some how I have lost my self worth again.

I have to figure out how to feel like the old me, the one where I KNEW I was worth getting healthy... I miss the confidence I had. Some of my old thoughts of anti-eating have been resurfacing and I hate it... I know that I have to do it healthy if I want it to stay.

I've lost my way and I can't find my way back...

    You can find your way back and you are worth it. Think of how you want Riley to never have the same problems with food that we have. You want her to see healthy eating habits from the start. Trust me my daughter if 6 and it is a struggle to get her to eat healthy because I did not practice it early. I have been good for the past 1 1/2 years however the first 4 years I was not so good and she picked up bad habits early. Take that baby on a stroll now that the weather is better and enjoy being a mom. Soon they are all grown and giving you attitude. ha ha

    Hey there, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I too had this problem. I struggled ALL of last year with my eating, one day great the next a total bust! I would lose 5lbs one week & regain them. I lost 7lbs one week & regained it. I know people on this site are ALWAYS saying "You can do this"! Well HECK ya, we can do ANYTHING we REALLY want to do, BUT you have to REALLY want to do it. I realize now, that last year, I just wasn't READY to FULLY make the commitment. I wanted it, but NOT ENOUGH to do more about it!! You WILL find your way, YOUR WAY, YOUR TERMS. I know what it feels like when you feel it seems like you are worthless & just destined to be heavy, & that you should just give in and accept it. I told myself that many times over the last year. I couldn't break through that feeling until I was REALLY READY to!! I think you are amazing!!!

    You can do this! Remember how special you are to yourself and mostly to your daughter. Anytime I need motivation I remember why I am doing this. I want my kids to grow up with healthier habits then I had and to have the best start. Most of all your daughter wants a happy mommy so go make momma happy girl!!! We have got your back! Just start somewhere...all it takes is one step forward.

Goals for after the baby

So, as of today I am 29 weeks and 6 days {tomorrow I'll be 30 weeks... what?!} so since around Feb. 1st, I'll be considered full term, I thought that I should get my goals written out so that once Riley is born, I won't be lost. So, here it goes.

emoticonApril-December try and lose 80 lbs {on average 10lbs a month}, since I'm not sure when I'll be having the baby, it should give me enough to to achieve this goal.

emoticonBreast feed for 6 months or as long as possible

emoticonTake vitamin daily. Since I want to breast feed, I'll have prenatals, after that I'd like to get a Once a Day

emoticonDrink less than one regular pop a week

emoticonDrink alocohol less than once a month

emoticonWalk 15 to 30 mins, two to three times a week {This is for right after she is born, light walking just to get me back into a routine.}

emoticonTry and use new/healthy recipes once a week

emoticonTrade ground beef for ground turkey when able

emoticonGet regular dental check-ups

emoticonStop eating deep fried foods

emoticonMake a meal plan

emoticonDrink plenty of water

emoticonOnce cleared by Dr. do workouts 3 to 4 times a week

emoticonCount calories daily

emoticonGet on birth control

emoticonEat between 1,800 t0 2,000 calories or as much as Dr. recomends for breast feeding mothers

This is just a rough draft, lol and subject to change. I'm very excited about getting back to working out.

    Congrats on the pregnancy ;) Just remember to go easy on yourself after the birth. Sometimes the new additions have other plans in mind...but stay motivated and enjoy! You have great goals and thats a GREAT start!

    Sounds good. One thing that you may want to consider adding in to your "routine" when you get clearance from the doctor would be adding some postnatal yoga. It was brilliant for me!!!

23.2 weeks pregnant

I haven't written an entry here since right before I found out I was pregnant... I miss it here so bad, lol. When I first got pregnant I weighed 317-ish... as of right now I'm 307.6. Severe nasuea and lack of appetite, not so fun. But I've only gained like a pound back so not bad considering when I was pregnant both times before I gained... With Gabe {oldest} I gained like 70 lbs and then with Ellie, I think it was 40... So yay! Lol. I only have about 3 months left... I'm super excited to get back on track.

We are having a little girl, we are going to name her Riley emoticon. But other than that, I don't have much to say... I just miss it here... If anyone has a facebook, let me know!

    Congrats on the pregnancy! I think I gained like 50 or 60 with my first and like 30 with my second. You are doing great! Keep up the good work and good luck with your new addition. You will get tons of exercise keeping up with three.
