So Very Tired

Monday, March 29, 2010

I've been traveling again. This time for a job interview in California as an Operations Manager and to move my twin sister from Arizona to her next duty station in Louisiana. I've been laid off since February and have two job opportunities coming my way.

Here in Arizona it hasn't been all work and no play:) On Saturday, I went hiking in the Huachuca Mountains and did a little spelunking. Today we visited Kartchner Caverns and then cleaned my sister's house. I'm so tired.

I have had very little time to myself, but just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still around the blogosphere. I'm holding steady in P4 near my last injection weight of 180 pounds.

Love to All!

Hey it sounds like you are around my old neighborhood. I'm from AZ but moved to Hawaii a year ago. I use to live in Sierra Vista.
I'm glad to hear that you are holding at LIW. I had MAJOR stress and depression the last couple weeks of P4 and gianed 10 :(. But I'm back on HCG and ready to get that 10 off plus a lot more.
Take care of yourself and I wish you the best of luck in finding a job.

What To Wear To Zumba

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Before I was sick last week, I took a Zumba class. It was interesting in a good way. I wanted to try it again. Then I was sick and missed the next class. If I'm going to do this again, I need to figure out a different outfit. The big baggy t-shirt and the loose yoga pants did nothing for my self-esteem. I also learned that having the correct footwear for Zumba is key. Sneakers don't cut it because of the traction on the sole. I did my first class in sneakers and the next day my feet were screaming! I went to a dance store and bought dance sneakers for $10. I have a big foot (10.5) and my size was on the clearance table:)

Back to the clothes: I'm not ready for the sporty tight tank tops. I very busty (36G) and even when I'm smaller, I probably never fit into any of those tops. I would like to find a light cargo pant and a fitted shirt I can move around in that doesn't show my stomach when I lift my arms. Any suggestions as to where to find something like this?

Places I've already checked:

Lulu Lemon
Official Zumba Site
Dance Discount
Sports Authority

Perhaps I'm being overly picky, but I'm just not ready to bear it all yet. What do you wear?
I look forward to seeing your responses.

Kindly,
Cammie (is now in P4 and holding steady at 181 pounds)

    Hi Cammie,
I wore strechy sports pants, long ones and a few times I wore a long t-shirt and then another time I wore a short sleeve shirt which was a jersey knit. I would have liked a V neck because once you get going you get hot. Almost everyone in our class just wore a Tshirt. I got my pants at a store similar to Target or K-mart. Yeah I had to get new shoes that will pivot, it hurt my knee's until I got those. Hope you enjoy Zumba. I have stopped until my therapy get's my knee's stronger.

After 4 Rounds - Down 71 pounds!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Thank goodness this round is almost over and there's only one more day of injections. If you look below my weight loss stopped at 180 this round. For now, I think I'm okay with this. I did my best and in previous years I was at this weight for a long time.

I need to break down and go to the doctor as this sinus infection that I've been fighting for the past three weeks is not getting any better. I think three weeks is long enough to let something fester:) It is starting to really effect my ability to function, my time at the gym is a struggle to get through, and I wake up several times during the night. This is my third infection in a short span of 8 months. This is odd for me, because I remember going years without getting sick. Perhaps dieting weakens the immune system? I'm just taking a wild guess. I have traveled extensively over the years and have never gotten ill.

Last week our basement flooded. The stuff that was down there is now drying out in our dining room and living room. Just seeing the the stuff I have to deal with is a bit of a challenge. I can't start to deal with it until everything is completely dry. There really aren't a huge amount of items because we've moved so many times over the years that the accumulation never gets that bad. Its little things like pictures, books, sun deck furniture, sewing stuff, dishes, files, etc. I went to Target the other day and Rubbermaid boxes to but everything into instead of cardboard. So if the flooding happens again the tubs will be waterproof!

This round was an experiment as I took a three week break in between this round and the last round. I probably won't do this again any time soon. The first two weeks were okay, but the last one was a challenge to get through.

I need to whine for a second here: I had dreams of hitting 175 this time around and getting down to 160 by the end of May. I have to reorganize my thoughts....I think getting to 170 by the end of May is a better goal. I just want this to come off so I can be done losing weight, ALREADY! I have another 50 pounds to go before my final goal of 130. I know I've come a long way already, but it seems like I still have a long way to go yet.

Start of Round 4 stats:
Pre-load weight: 187.5
Load weight: 192.8
VLCD Day 6: 185.2
VLCD Day 7: 182.8
VLCD Day 8: 182.2
VLCD Day 9: 180.6
VLCD Day 10: 179
VLCD Day 11: 179
VLCD Day 12: 180.5
VLCD Day 13: 179.5
VLCD Day 14: 178.5
VLCD Day 15: 180
VLCD Day 16: 179.5
VLCD Day 22: 180

Still wearing a size 12 and looking forward to being out of the 170s soon!

I actually have the opposite effect since being on HCG. I used to get sick all the time and now I've only been sick once in the last 10 months. It's been awesome!

Keep up the great work and just take things a day at a time, otherwise you may get overwhelmed. I understand the anxious anticipation of losing more, but be patient. Your body needs to lose it at it's own pace. It's still exciting to be so close to getting into the 170's! Keep going.

    Hey Cammie,
Great to hear from you! Hon you are doing fantastic, I know it get's hard when it slows down especially if you are sick. One of the things my friend and I found is the allergies get worse so if you have allergies that affect your sinus's like my friend they seem to get more sensitive. My food allergies are more sensitive now. On the Gluten Free Forum I found out it's normal. You might think that not having things would mean you could have more but it works the other way. Soveriegn Silver which is a hydrasol version works well and they have a nose spray or you can take it by mouth up to 4 or more times a day for acute things. Another one I love which helps sinus and colds is Umcka by Nature's Way. They have homeopathic non-alcohol drops that taste good and work fast. Hope you are feeling better soon! Yeah the stress of everything plus the basement takes the immune system down too. Make sure nothing is getting moldy because your sinuses might react to that. Hang in there! I know it's a long journey but you are doing positively amazing. Take care!!
Hugs

Cammie you have done really well. You have flown a few times this round and had to deal with the stress of the basement in the short round. Plus you are at that previous weight and sick so it is probably just a stall. It stinks but it happens, as you know.

As the immunity, I think dieting does weaken immunity. During the summer I did not use any medications or supplements but I used to get sick all the time so for my winter rounds I still supplemented and it did not effect my losses. I took Ester-C, Viatmin D-3, Zinc, and a multi and am now taking oral B-12 as well and potassium and magnesium on occasion. I got an upper respiratory infection my last short round that lasted about 10-12 days total (4-5 of which were misery) but at least it did not turn into something more. Interestingly, illness (colds, infections, cancer) feed off sugar so it is the first thing you should dump when you feel sick BUT we already know you are sugar-free.....

You'll get to your goal. You are one of the most dedicated people around here! Good to hear from you

Seems like you are doing good. As for dieting and the immune system. When you diet you should be eating a healthy diet that includes plenty of, veggies, fruits, lean meats, eggs, low fat dairy, and whole grains. Dump all the white flour, white rice, white breads and use only whole grains. Dump the sugar! Everything else stays. If you diet the right way your body should be getting healthier and stronger not weaker. Also, make sure that you are eating enough. Many people want fast weight lose. (We all do) Yet slow with consistency beats the race. Good luck and have a great day!

R4P2 - Day 16

Friday, March 05, 2010

Life got a little busy for me, especially this week. While my husband and I were away last week, Boston and the rest of the Northeast was hit with a tremendous amount of rain (and other winter might). Our sump pump didn't turn on because our power was out for a few days. The end result: I went to the finished basement to retrieve tax information two days ago and discovered the flooded mess. Oh, what a frickin' mess! Household items topsy turvy and boxes crumbling from water damage. What I'm most upset about are the photographs, letters, and diplomas really damaged by the water.

The next week is going to be busy cleaning all of this up (without my husband's help) and try to salvage everything. I'm still on a short round of hcg and have had a day where I've stalled a little, then gained, the stalled, and not cheated. Our bodies are very weird sometimes. The only thing I can do is just keep on the protocol, because it does work. FYI: This is the time in the protocol when I usually get frustrated. I'll be extremely happy to get down to 175 by the end of this short round (Come on 170!). We'll see.

For anyone that's interested, I'm posting my day-to-day numbers:

Start of Round 4 stats:
Pre-load weight: 187.5
Load weight: 192.8
VLCD Day 6: 185.2
VLCD Day 7: 182.8
VLCD Day 8: 182.2
VLCD Day 9: 180.6
VLCD Day 10: 179
VLCD Day 11: 179
VLCD Day 12: 180.5
VLCD Day 13: 179.5
VLCD Day 14: 178.5
VLCD Day 15: 180
VLCD Day 16: 179.5

I hope that everyone is hanging in there!

    Hi Cammie,
So sorry to hear about your basement, that's so cruel. Seems like you can't catch much of a break lately. Hope the cleanup goes well. If I lived anywhere close I'd come help. Heck the way things are I wouldn't mind hopping on a plane to come help, get away from "my stuff" for awhile. Good luck with getting to your goal for this round. I know you will get there! Take care!!

    Hey Cammie:

I walked into a flooded basement once....... I feel for you!! hope the clean up goes ok.

Glad you are doing ok. I am on VLCD 4 and the loss already slowed this morning - still not all the load weight off... grrrrr. I think I am going to stop weighing myself so I don't get frustrated. When you get back from your sister's we should meet 1/2 way or something.... let's put faces to the names.

Started Another Short Round - R4P2

Monday, February 22, 2010

It kind of just happened. I'm in Arizona visiting my sister, away from my darling husband, with little distractions. Arizona has some delightful weather this time of year, and I'm enjoying the hiking trails in Sierra Vista. There is a different kind of beauty here than what you would find in the Northeast. Visiting is wonderful, but I think I would miss the hustle and bustle of the city eventually.

My sister had some hcg left from her previous round, and she didn't want to throw it away because it was going to soon expire. I thought "Okay, it has only been three weeks but I'll going to do another short round". Perhaps this is foolish of me, but I didn't feel like waiting another 3 weeks. If anything I can turn this into a learning experience, and pass on the information that I find out. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

Start of Round 4 stats:
Pre-load weight: 187.5
Load weight: 192.8 (Oh, it was a good load filled will all the delights of Southwestern food!)
VLCD Day4: 185.2

I can say that I'm not hungry at all this round. I made fudge yesterday for the officers in my sister's company, and did not partake in any of it, not even the tiniest bite! As I've stated before: all rounds are different. This round, I could care less about eating. This is a welcome relief because the last short round I did back in January I was ready to fry up our hamster, Beanie (http://schwabcenter.com/beanie/).

Has anyone else not waited the full 6 weeks between short rounds? I'm slowly breaking from my purist Simeon ways as far as timetable goes. However; I am following the eating protocol listed in Pounds and Inches.

I am willing to experiment this time too, Cammie. I wonder if I am getting cocky!! lol

But, since my period should arrive in the next 10 days or so I may wait. I wonder if I could load on heavy flow days.. I am thinking about doing that.

I am sure you will do well. Keep us posted though. I have heard of people going through clinics who are told they can do short rounds after doing 3-4 week breaks.

i have done short rounds as well.. it all depends, on if you stick to them or not.. if you dont stick to them then you will gain back, and then you have to lose that weight all over again.. (i have done that where i lost 20lbs and then i gained it back, and then i had to loose it again.. (which i did) but you gotta have that mind frame set in, no bread, no bread.. lol that is a downfall for me at work, cause we have yummy bread for sandwhiches and cookies.. and i could eat like a whole platefull of cookies in one sitting.. so but otherwise it does work, you just need to follow through on P3 afterwards..
good luck! im looking forward to see how you do!
