Christmas deliveries

Saturday, December 20, 2014

I have been making deliveries to the kids living close to us. I will leave some in Wichita when we go through there on our way to OK. I am getting so excited about our little adventure and I found out today that we get to stay longer than I thought.I was expecting to have to come back on Christmas day but we can wait until the following morning. Yea!

The snow is melting

Friday, December 19, 2014

It never looks as pretty the next day as the day it fell. Dirty and melting into a messy driveway. That's O.K. though as I am not going anywhere until after lunch and mail time. Today is payday so have to go to the bank. DH is working and he thinks he will have to work late. He had Thanksgiving off so he is scheduled to work a double on Christmas day. I am trying to decide which child I will go spend the day with. Thinking about going to Muskogee, OK. My son is off so he would be able to go with me, it's a long way by yourself!

Check that weather forecast - we have a winter storm warning here, so I wouldn't expect too many days to go by before it gets to YOUR place!

I am having a dinner here at my house for family. And I have a brother and SIL flying in on Christmas Day late, so will fix leftovers for them at some point. I cook the turkey the day before and pull all the meat off so I avoid that mess at the actual dinner. Whoever came up with that hint has really helped my holidays to go much more smoothly! It reheats well! And no-one has ever complained about not getting to see the turkey come out of the oven! I fix a ham the day of so the house still smells wonderful.

Have fun in OK! And glad you have someone to share the ride with!

We still haven't had anything but flurries here in the valley. This will be the first year Steve has Christmas off since we moved here. I am looking forward to spending time with the kids on the coast. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas where ever you decide to spend it!

Hello!

Thursday, December 18, 2014

My dear friends, I have been so busy that I have not had time to get here. My part time job, substitute mail carrier, has turned into quite another thing. The woman that I sub for has had to take time off to take care of her husband, who has been very sick. By the time that I spend 10 hours a day, driving over 100 miles a day delivering mail I have no energy left for other things. I honestly do not know how people who work keep up with all to be done here on SP. I have a lot of respect for those that can do it. Health wise I have been doing very well and am truly thankful to God for my early detection and successful treatment. My energy is coming back but am not back into exercising as I was before all of this happened. We got our first snow of the season last night and it is beautiful to look at and makes the season seem more real. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God bless you, one and all!

So good to hear from you! Life happens, and it is very hard to keep up with SP when you have work to do outside your home... or even inside if you are a caregiver sometimes as I am! Then throw in our health issues, and one wonders how we Spark as well as we do! LOL!
Have a Merry Christmas, and we will pray for a good New Year! God is always good, so the year will be a good one, too, because God loves us!

I am not surprised to hear you are working more hours although sorry to hear the reason. It is pretty common for people to take time off this time of year. Glad to hear you are doing well health wise. Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas & happy New Year too!

This HAS to be the busiest time of year for your job! You're spending the time where you need to - your family, your health, your job. It will balance out after the holidays. In the meantime relax and ENJOY that snow!

My friends

Saturday, November 15, 2014

It has been quite sometime since I was last here. I have been fighting Bronchitis and a cold along with DH having it too. We had quite a time trying to wait on each other and keep us both going! DH missed a week of work but I was able to do my mail route when I had to. I thought that the cold was backing up on me yesterday but today I am feeling much better. I am still doing therapy two days a week for my shoulder. We are making headway and am looking forward to being released. I need to get back into my exercising full time, it is so easy to let it lapse!

We got our first dusting of snow last night and expecting more before morning.

Yes, I'm afraid the snow that will resurface again in April is currently sitting on my lawn. Better bundle up. Need to get healthy before the REALLY nasty weather hits!

Sorry to hear you have both been sick. It is good you are getting better. I find it harder to exercise when the cold weather keeps me indoors. Need to find a way!

I am glad you are feeling better now. I know how easy it is to get out of the habit of exercising. I am trying to set aside a time everyday for mine.

Busy day tomorrow

Thursday, October 23, 2014

I got a recall notice on my little car that I deliver mail in so must get it into the shop in the morning. Then off to therapy again so my day will be shot after that.

We are planning on going to see our newest great grandson this weekend. Number 55 (that's grands and great grands) I've got diapers and a walker for him. Number 54 is in Colorado and I will get to see him at Thanksgiving. I am truly blessed!
