I have been getting this big RED message on my fitness page telling me that I needed to change either my exercise plan or my nutrition plan. Since getting the Fitbit it sends all of the information to SparkPeople account. I was getting way over what I had figured for my cardio each day and was not eating enough to be right. Since I want to keep getting the 10,000 steps a day I changed my nutrition plan, quite a bit. I hope that I can eat that much food in a day. I will not question whether or not the calories figured automatically by SparkPeople is right as I have seen this work before. It's just hard to believe that if you are eating this much and not losing weight how can you lose weight if you add more food? I'll give it an honest try!

    Hello Sparked Friend.. I asked about your fit bit awhile back and I think that I may invest in one.. o.k. this is what I found in reference to your intriguing question. This answer made since to me:

To lose weight, you have to expend more energy than you consume. And if you could do that simply by using fat stored in the body, you would be mostly fine. But you don't. As you expend energy from fat stores, you also use up some of the finite stores of critical compounds in your body - proteins, vitamins, specific fatty acids, sodium, water. If you are not getting these things from ongoing food intake, your body will either do without and malfunction, or it will cannibalize existing sources within the body, causing damage to existing tissues. And the body is not selective when this happens - the heart muscles can be cannibalized as easily as any other muscle.

This is exacerbated when significant exercise is added to food restriction. The exercise breaks down and stresses muscle tissue, so additional protein is required to rebuild these. Also, exercise causes sweating, so dehydration/sodium deficiency can become a problem.

So it's a emoticon I guess.. ? The question that you've come up with is something that we all need to be aware of. Thank you for high-lighting this for us.

I thought that I was really getting some where this morning! Was working real hard and had my walking and bike riding done. Had even swept and mopped the kitchen floor since the dogs have been tracking mud! I was just thinking that I was going to get done early when the phone rang. It was my grand daughter and she was in town so I dropped everything so that I could go see her. I took her to lunch and we visited for awhile then she had to leave. We had a nice visit and I always enjoy seeing her!

Didn't end February on a real positive note. My weight is up .9 lbs. from the beginning of of the month. I had been doing really well then we ate dinner out two days in a row. I missed only one day of exercising and 4 days of Sparking during the month. I think the best part of the whole month was getting my Fitbit Zip and finally getting my 10,000 steps. I am determined to make some headway in March!

    Please. Up .9 pounds? What is that, one glass of water? Two? The IMPORTANT thing is that you're getting in your 10,000 steps consistently, and how awesome is THAT?!?

    I think March is going to be better. February was rather difficult with all the snow. And you have your new FitBit to enjoy! I'm looking for a better month too in March! I start and stop each month the same. I like that I haven't gained, but am disappointed to not lose. We can do it!

It has been a real good day today. DH has been home on his days off but I was able to get my exercises done in good shape. I am fairly certain that I will reach my 10,000 steps again which just makes me so happy! I am looking forward to a very relaxing evening, too!

It warmed up a little today and I can see the ground out in the back yard! Who would have thought that it would start melting so fast! I am not complaining about that, at all. The snow was so wet that I will have a mess for awhile as the mud will come in with the dogs. I'll just keep the mop handy for awhile!

I did make my 10,000 steps yesterday and I am thinking that I will do the same today. Maybe, now that I have it figured out, I can do it every day!

    way cool on all that walking. I got my 3 mile walk in today. I wonder how many steps that is? I don't have a fitbit. Almost got one during christmas but didn't.
Today Im just going to keep cleaning the house and getting ready for the Meet and greet. My son's girlfriends parents and aunt are coming up and spending the weekend with us. We are going to get details down for the wedding in June.
I think we will get a large tent and go that route. Renting one of those port johns sounds like a good idea too so the traffic stays outdoors.

    It's after 9:30 pm here and we still are buried in the snow. Perhaps we will melt some tomorrow. It's up over my boots to my knees.

I am trying to get more steps in with my treadmill, but it is so boring I can hardly stand it! I need to rearrange the room so I don't face the wall. But the machines are so big it is hard to figure it out. Think I will work on that tomorrow.
