My friends

Saturday, November 15, 2014

It has been quite sometime since I was last here. I have been fighting Bronchitis and a cold along with DH having it too. We had quite a time trying to wait on each other and keep us both going! DH missed a week of work but I was able to do my mail route when I had to. I thought that the cold was backing up on me yesterday but today I am feeling much better. I am still doing therapy two days a week for my shoulder. We are making headway and am looking forward to being released. I need to get back into my exercising full time, it is so easy to let it lapse!

We got our first dusting of snow last night and expecting more before morning.

Yes, I'm afraid the snow that will resurface again in April is currently sitting on my lawn. Better bundle up. Need to get healthy before the REALLY nasty weather hits!

Sorry to hear you have both been sick. It is good you are getting better. I find it harder to exercise when the cold weather keeps me indoors. Need to find a way!

I am glad you are feeling better now. I know how easy it is to get out of the habit of exercising. I am trying to set aside a time everyday for mine.

Busy day tomorrow

Thursday, October 23, 2014

I got a recall notice on my little car that I deliver mail in so must get it into the shop in the morning. Then off to therapy again so my day will be shot after that.

We are planning on going to see our newest great grandson this weekend. Number 55 (that's grands and great grands) I've got diapers and a walker for him. Number 54 is in Colorado and I will get to see him at Thanksgiving. I am truly blessed!

Wow! You have us beat. People think we have a lot of grandkids when we tell them we have 18. Enjoy spoiling your new grandson.

A nice day

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

It's been a little cloudy and even sprinkled a little this afternoon. It's not too hot or too cold but just right, the way I like it! I have still been going to therapy and it seems that it is about to kick my rear! I don't know why I have been so tired but I can't sit down without falling asleep. I can't get anything done that way! Managed my walking and Sparking today so maybe tomorrow I can do more.

Thank you, my friends, for sticking by me!

It was cool and cloudy here today. It even rained a little.
You have been through a lot and your body is probably needing more rest.

I am loving this cooler fall weather. Be good to yourself and give yourself the permission to rest when you feel like you really need it. emoticon

Treat yourself gently as you recover! I have to remind myself sometimes that the calendar says I'm a different age than I FEEL I am!

Again

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Here I am again. Seems like it's been a long time since I've been away. I have been busy again with Dr. appointments, so far I am not getting any bad feed back. I have delivered mail and will do that again next Tuesday, the day after a holiday should be a big day. I am doing some therapy now as I am having a hard time lifting my arms since my last surgery. I went to school with my grandson on Grandparents day and had a great time. Monday I am going to a Breast Cancer Awareness presentation that is being given here in our small town. I think that it will be good for me to attend. I got my new prosthesis the other day, still trying to decide if I like it!

You'll get that range of movement back. I "walked" my fingers up walls and doorways several times a day, trying to go just a little further each time. Don't remember how long it took though. Good luck! Curious which prosthesis you ended up getting. There are pros and cons for all the different styles. And there are patterns on the internet for knitted and crocheted ones you can make yourself. It's nice to have choices. emoticon

We've reached an age where we don't bounce back from those surgeries like we used to! Good for you for committing to some physical therapy. I know they made me do things I certainly wouldn't have chosen to do on my own, but it gave me back some of the flexibility and functionality I'd lost after surgery. Hang in there!

Sounds like you are keeping busy. Attending the group sound like a good idea. I hope delivering the mail isn't too much for you since you are having a hard time lifting your arms.

Still trying

Saturday, October 04, 2014

I can't seem to get back to this on a daily basis. I do try to do some walking when I can but that's not always possible either. It's no wonder that I can not get back to losing some of this weight. There's always some place that someone wants me to be!

This probably isn't the most important thing on your plate! Looks like you're getting a LOT of movement in, even if you aren't "exercising", so I'd say that's a win. Thanks for stopping in and letting us know how you're doing!

DH and I find it funny that our calendar is so full even though we are both retired. But I think I prefer it that way. Too busy to be bored! And I love helping other people out. But I think I need to schedule in some classes at my YMCA and make them a priority. There are some yoga classes I really want to try. I even wrote up a schedule for next week and told my sister we are going. So good luck getting back to your previous exercise schedules, and I am hoping to start one for me! emoticon emoticon
