Zombie 5k Complete!!!

Today I took part in a Run For Your Lives zombie 5k obstacle run. I had a blast! Yes it was gross, yes it was tiring, but it was fun!

Now to plan my next 5k. I need to do some serious training.

The Future

I read something recently that said " stop the glorification of busy." I found this to be profound, when people ask me how I've been I always reply "busy." Well I'm tired of that, I am busy but more than that I'm focused, I'm creative and I'm fun, busy is eating up everything else. My goal for the next little while is to get back to focusing on me and my health and of course stay busy but not like I have been. Now that we're moved into the new apartment and I'm not house sitting for a while I should have some regular down time which is good, if I have scheduled down time I'm more likely to keep up with my work out.

My big goal is to keep working towards 5K fitness. This upcoming Saturday I'm driving to Texas for a Zombie 5K, I've been preparing for this for months....that is until the end of October. At the end of October my preparations fell aside, I moved, I house sat, the holidays arrived. Basically I've screwed myself over..... HOWEVER I am still going, I'm still going to finish even if I have to crawl over the stupid line. I must admit that I'm disappointed but disappointment gets you nowhere so I've decided to use this race as a measure of my abilities and I plan to do another 5K at the end of this 10 week challenge. I'm excited about this and now I just have to find my race to work towards.

    I like this new approach to life - busy is killing me, we are all so much more than busy!

Congrats on finishing your 5K - I still haven't done one but have been thinking about it for a while now. Sounds like you picked a fun one (thanks for being guilty with me about loving Harry Potter).

Your right...busy is almost an abused word!! We all have "busy" in our lives, but we sometimes use it as an excuse.

I'm happy that you are going through with the 5k. Keep in touch!! I love hearing how you are doing. Good luck on the 5k and stay focused!!

    Good attitude girl!! I'm the same way when I'm too busy work outs go on the back burner. I'm hoping to change that during our 10 week challenge!! I need to make time for me!
