Last week was not a good one for me! I was just too busy to concentrate on a diet and I didn't record my food choices nor did I go for my 40 minute walk every day. On the bright side I had a wonderful Easter with family and friends but I'm paying for it now - I gained 1.2 lbs. I have been working so hard to lose weight and this is the first time since January that I have actually gained since being on my diet. I'm angry at myself but also motivated to get back on track today. I was putting off getting on the scale because I expected to be up a lot more than 1.2 lbs. I'm so glad I did weigh in because now I know the damage done and can go on from there. My sister is turning 50 the end of May and we are having a big party for her. I haven't seen my sisters since January and they don't know that I've been losing weight so my next goal is to lose another 10 lbs by the party and really surprise them - I want to look fabulous for the party. Time to get started on my next goal!!

That's a victory compared to what it could have been with all that happiness sharing!!!!
You're on the right track and can't help but look gorgeous for you sis' party!
If you were weighing in at my house on my lousy scale, you'd see numbers like that going up and down every day. Ay yi yi.
You can do it! No more yummy holidays til 4th of July!

I've been really good with the diet but seem to be at a plateau as far as losing weight. Yesterday I decided to add a 40 minute walk along the Lakeshore to my routine. Today I got on the scale and was down 1 lb - - don't know if this was due to the walk but I'll take it! I plan to walk Monday to Friday and have the weekend off to do other activities. It is really cold and windy in Barrie today and normally that would be enough of an excuse for me to stay home but that slight movement on the scale just seemed to motivate me enough and I'm so glad I did the walk. It was so pretty along the lakeshore and I had so much energy when I finish the walk. The good thing is that my husband, John, is doing this walk with me so I'm really happy.

Glad you have your hubby at your side to make it even more fun.
If you chat with a smile along the way, it burns more calories! (OK I made that up, but it sounds like it should be true.)

    Awesome! It's amazing, if we just take that first step out the door or in to the gym we are set up to feel great the rest of the day. Why is that first step so hard sometimes when we know the reward. I am so glad you had a loss. Heres to more soon! emoticon

I'm so happy! I weighed in today at 199.0 lbs. This is the lowest that I have been in many years. I'm over half way to my goal and I'm really trying hard to reach it before the summer. John is doing great as well and is so happy with his progress. We both need to get back to exercising but we have been in a training program for the past few weeks and just don't have the time. I know that is an excuse but we are not ready to exercise at this time. Now that the training is over we will try again to set up a regular routine.

Another great week! I lost 4.6 lbs! I'm so excited. That makes 24 lbs lost since January.
I had a doctor's appointment on Friday and he weighed me and I was 197 on his scale - under the 200 - which I haven't been in many years. However, his scale weighs light and I will just go by my scale because it is the one I started with and it will show my real weight loss.
Now we need to start back exercising and I know I can be below the 200 next week when I weigh in if I really try hard. This week I ate rice, potatoes and pasta - all measured and counted but they still are carbs so I'm surprised that I lost this much in one week. John did not lose this week and he is not that happy but he is happy for me. He plans to really watch his food intact and by next week we will both be down. This is a great day for me!

Another happy day - I've lost 19.4 lbs so far - the diet is certainly working. John has lost weight and is so happy - he has not been 238 lbs in so many years and he is looking great!
Yesterday I went to Swiss Chalet with Barb for lunch. I was really careful with my food choices and I had a huge plate of veggies for dinner last night so I know that really helped with today's weigh in. I'm taking Prednisone for my bronchitis and asthma right now and that tends to make me gain weight and retain water so I wasn't expecting much today but I'm pleasantly happy. It is taking awhile but once I can start to exercise again I know the weight will come off faster. I see the doctor on Friday and I will weigh in at his office as well - his scale is 10 lb lighter than my scale so that will make me feel even better and that is the weight that goes on my record with his office. Anyway, this is certainly a great motivator and I intend to really be good this week - no more eating out.
