fighting back against an emerging cold

Saturday, November 26, 2011

I can see that the radiation treatment is affecting me because I can feel another head cold trying to fight its way in. I am fighting back with moderate exercise, good nutrition, & REST. Next up this morning is a walk with the dog, then going to do some work, then take a nap this afternoon.
This, after 9.5 hours of sleep last night! I think I am getting what my routine is going to be until radiation treatment is over, in about 5 weeks.

Still positive - and determined.

Ye old vitamin A--used to be just codl liver oil--cures respiratory stuff, as well as other problems. Use 3 x the daily dose of Vit A for a day or two. I took 8 x daily dose each day for four months and got rid of some chronic problems. That is a high dose, though. Infections use up Vit A rapidly, and I had an internal infection that nobody knew about. I just knew that I did not have much energy without a bunch of Vit. A.

Does your doctor know the best alternative treatments?

Another leisurely day

Friday, November 25, 2011

Well I like these days where I can do things at my own pace... doing some holiday shopping online, doing some client work, will walk dog when it gets a bit warmer outside, and getting household things done. Plan to rest this afternoon after doing a couple of routine errands...

Life is good.

A very nice Thanksgiving Day

Thursday, November 24, 2011

A wonderful day so far... my son is watching football, I just took the dog for a long walk, now going to do treadmill... turkey is in the oven for dinner later, stuffed with wild rice-apple-raisin-mushroom stuffing.

Continuing to feel grateful for all that I have. Being diagnosed with breast cancer was a shock that I am just now coming to grips with, 3 months later and deep into the treatment protocol. But I understand it's an opportunity to continue on a fitness path, and now would like to lose another 10 pounds to that end. Going to keep at it. I am especially grateful to not have any side effects from radiation (so far.)

Staying positive - and within calorie range!

Very thankful - grateful, even

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Feeling very thankful today... had early radiation appointment followed by grocery shopping for the Thanksgiving dinner (was nice to be at the store so early - no one there!) Was back home by 8:45, and going through some work to re-organize what needs to happen between now and the Christmas holidays to stay on top of projects.

So... am grateful for a wonderful son who is a fine man, my two dogs who are both age 9 and going strong, and for my health, which I look forward to being myself again after 30 more radiation treatments. (Doesn't seem so bad compared to what I could be doing, like having chemotherapy.)

Happy Thanksgiving a day early to the spark crowd!

day ahead

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

back from radiation treatment, already in workout clothes ready to walk the dog; had breakfast before going to radiation & ready to have a nice lunch with a friend later, followed by errands & client work this afternoon... my dinner group meets tonight and that is always great (it's a monthly outing of women executives - all good friends) & something to look forward to...

Beautiful day in the south - unseasonably warm, which is great!

Looking ahead with continued optimism.
