much improved today

Thursday, October 13, 2011

well today i feel much better - may have turned a corner in terms of the recovery from surgery. every day is a bit better. I really underestimated the impact of the surgery and the length of the total recovery time, but I am feeling stronger each day, and venturing out this afternoon to facilitate a 2 hour planning session for a client, then attending a reception for another client. Planning to be back home by 8 - don't think I can take much more than that.

Progress!

Today- more progress

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Continuing to make progress, and starting the very unpleasant task of dealing with insurance companies. This part I am already out of patience with. And there is a lot ahead.
But my recovery continues & I am making progress. Feeling stronger each day.

People are so right when they say that cancer is not for the faint of heart. Glad my prognosis is a good one.

continuing to rest & recover

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

well I have a swelling complication from the removal of lymph nodes, but not yet severe enough to go back to the surgeon. Will see how it is in a day or two - hoping more intervention won't be needed.... but feeling pretty good and continuing to rest, get alot of healing sleep, and looking forward to resuming workouts next week, provided this swelling goes away.

Waiting on pathology advanced system results. Seeing oncologist in 2 weeks to determine next steps. A lot of ambiguity right now, but am ok with that at the moment!

psuedo holiday

Monday, October 10, 2011

So today we celebrate Columbus Day... or at last banks and the post office and federal agencies do... several of my clients also take this as a holiday so it will be a quiet day for me, which is nice. Still recovering from the surgery (on Sept 30) and finding I have more swelling today than I did a week ago. Need to take it easy. VERY easy, I think. So I am regrouping to be restful on this dreary, rainy day (which makes it easier!) Good to read material and catch up.

Lost 1 -yeah!

Sunday, October 09, 2011

Being less than five pounds to my goal means that every small victory is awesome - this morning, I am down one more pound. This, despite surgery on sept 30, and virtually no exercise since. Very pleased. Going for a short walk today with dog, and planning more rest so that healing is completed later this week.

Am working hard to mentally prepare for the breast cancer treatment that is ahead. Feeling ready - on all counts.
