I tried to Meditate last night for the first time in a very long time. I Meditated for 2 minutes even though it wasn't as long as I was going for I still did it. My mind kept getting distracted by non sense thoughts like "I wonder how long have I been doing this?" "What am I going wear tomorrow?" While I was Meditating I concentrated on my slow breathing and relaxing. What helped me to focus was listening to Ocean sounds I kept picturing myself there.

Update: My Dancing challenge is going good. Out of 500 minutes this month I have done 33. I have a feeling if I want to meet my goal of 500 I need to get going and not skip days. My Yoga challenge is going good also. Out of 500 minutes this month I have done 57 minutes which is a little bit better but not by much but that's ok.

    I can't seem to learn how to quiet my mind enough to meditate. Good for you for working on this.

    YOUR DOING GREAT WITH BOTH GOALS CARRIE...... I HAVE REALLY BEEN SLACKING OFF.... I LIKE THE WAY YOU SET UP THE AMOUNT YOU WANT TO DO FOR THE MONTH.... I MIGHT HAVE TO GIVE THAT A TRY..... AND THEN I HAVE SOMETHING TO WORK TOWARDS.. GREAT IDEA.. emoticon

A Quick Update and Helpful Tips

I brought my cat to the Vet. yesterday because she hasn't been acting right. The Vet. told me that she has a minor UTI. Spade (my cat) was given antibiotics to take for the next two weeks and then she should be fine. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it was.

Lastly, I thought I would add these tips that help me maybe they will help you too

1. before I type out my Blog I write it down on paper to get my thoughts in order

2. I figure what exercise I want to do for the day and I write them on paper also before I record them.

    I'm glad to hear that your cat's UTI isn't that bad and I hope she is feeling better.

I usually type my blogs in Word can then copy/paste and that helps me.

I like the idea of pre-planning exercise. As much structure as I like, I seem to like deciding by the seat of my pants for exercise. This is an area where I need to improve.

Day 2: Sort of

I have been MIA from Spark for a few days. I haven't been feeling well and I have been over tired. Due to feeling like this I have been eating carelessly and neglecting exercise. But now I am feeling a little better and I am ready to get back into the swing of things.

In order to help me reach my goals for this month I have broken them down into daily goals. I have also printed them out and hung them as a daily reminder to achieve them. After I complete each goal, I put a check mark next to them off and move on to the next one. I mark them in pencil so that I can erase it for the next day.

Now on to things that are not Spark related. I have some bad news and I have some good news.

The bad news is I think my kitty cat is sick emoticon. My kitty has been using her kitty box like every 15 minutes for the past two days. I cannot tell if she is peeing or pooping because the litter clumps together and makes it hard to determine. I called the Vet this morning and they want me to bring her in tomorrow morning. I hope that she is okay she has never been this sick before.

The good news is that I got my job back! For those of you that do not know I was let go for a stupid reason (see Blog written on 9-26-11). I was so upset about what had happened that the only choice I felt I had was to advocate for myself. I made several phone calls to the "higher ups" and explained to them what had happened and how I felt.

Well, this past Tuesday I received a call from working asking me if I would like to come back. So needless to say I went back to work last week and it felt good! But the best thing is I feel great about sticking up for myself and doing what I felt was right for me. I just goes to show that being a fighter is the best thing that you can do for yourself!

I'm sorry that your cat isn't well and I hope she gets better soon!

Congrats on getting your job back! Way to go on being an advocate for yourself! I hope that everything continues to go well with your job!

I love your idea for managing your goals. I love checking boxes next to goals so I can see how putting up daily goals and marking them off would help. Have a wonderful week!

About your daily goals... this site helped me to think through some other things I needed done, but I've avoided - for no good reason. So I've added the small daily goals to my point page so I am reminded and get rewarded for the small steps. One of these is reading a book that was strongly encouraged 10 years ago... It's an excellent book (Transforming Grace), but obviously haven't been able to stick with it (I am a reader - but have no idea why I've procrastinated for so long!). Anyway - because of SP, I've set my daily goal to read just one page per night... I'm not always able to get it in, but most times, I get 2 pages read! My overall goal is to finish it by the end of October.

So YAY! for small goals!!!

Keeping Up with My Goals: Day 1

To day October 3, 2011 I did 27 minutes of Yoga as part of a 45 minute workout. I ate veggies with my lunch and dinner. For my "bed time" snack I had a banana. I think that I did pretty good today with keeping up with my goals.

October Goals

My goals for the month of October are:

-500 minutes of Dance

-500 minutes of Yoga

-loose 5lbs.

-1,000 of Fitness minutes

-eat 1 fruit and or veggie at day

-Blog every day
