4-Day Vacation!

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

I've lost 10 pounds of my Winter 15 so I'm pleased with the last 9 days progress. I'm going out of town tomorrow until Sunday morning and will not be able to track daily. Tomorrow has a couple of clinic appointments and will be fairly busy with walking. Friday will be sedentary as I'll be visiting an aunt who seldom moves from her chair. Lots of walking Saturday while I administer the ACT test to college hopefuls. Walking in Walmart Sunday morning as I have to stop there on the way home. Next week much the same except I am going to the Texas Fish Hatcheries in Athens, Texas for a summer inservice. That should be fun.

The goal is to keep down the intake and get as much activity in as possilbe. Not much I can do about tracking as I will have no internet. I plan to keep up with food but you know how our plans go!

See everyone Sunday night! Have a great weekend!

Sounds like you've got plans for lots of exercise. That's great. Remember, drink lots of water! Enjoy the hatcheries!

Almost through with the major yardwork for the summer. I have another 20 feet of holly hedge to clean out and mulch, then it is weed/feed/water for the rest of the year. While Mom and I were out working, this guy came by who had done tree-trimming work for us and trimmed the pecans, hauled off some old lawn furniture, and Wow! things look good. Naturally, I don't work outside unscathed. I was on the ground, went to pull up on a holly trunk, it was dead! Sprained my wrist and set my back off again. I had to lay on ice-slush for a couple of hours yesterday and looks like that is in the future for today also.

But things shore look purty out there!

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing worse than cleaning out holly. It eats you alive! Sorry you were wounded but glad your holly is purty!

Gotta Get My Treadmill Moved

Monday, June 06, 2011

As soon as I can get the den cleaned up, and the first time one of my brothers wanders by, I have to beg, plead, cajole one of them to move the treadmill from the garage. After I put in an hour out there, even with the doors up, I about need an IV it's so hot. If I ever get another tm, it has to be an el cheapo and not a Gold's Gym model. The thing only weighs about 500 pounds.

But I got my time in and had a good weekend on watching my intake even though I didn't track on Sunday.

I did, however, get to church for both services although the second hour of the night service started to wear by the time it was finished. Wonder why it is that pews have such narrow seats. Even if padded, they are just dadgum uncomfortable. Maybe you aren't supposed to be comfortable. LOL

We're always supposed to look for the good in everything. So - digging real hard -
I found having the treadmill in the garage and you sweating, you lost more weight and probably drank more water afterward. And the little church pew helped you stay awake to hear the sermon. Whew - that was a stretch! Good luck getting the boys to more your treadmill! emoticon

Tired Today But 9 Pounds Down

Saturday, June 04, 2011

I'm still trying to talk myself to the treadmill but I've done most of the exercises in my plan and worked outside for about an hour. I think I'm going to take a nap and read the rest of the day.

You deserve a reading break. What are you reading now? I'm reading The Shifting Tide by Anne Perry.
Enjoy your weekend! emoticon emoticon

8 Down, 7 to Go

Friday, June 03, 2011

On the Winter 15. Then I can start the Spring 15, followed closely by the Summer 15, Fall 15...

I've busted my rear this week despite the back and knee, kidney failure, et al by taking it in 15-20 minute blocks. Next week starts all the doctor appt. rounds so it will be harder for the remainder of June but I've really enjoyed my first week of vacation.

You have no idea how hard it is to drive through McDonalds for a sugar-free ice tea when you're addicted to extra-large hazelnut iced coffees. I'm probably up for sainthood! : )

Sometims its better to go in baby steps rather than big ones that just wear you out - several 10min and up (even 5 min), sessions of movement will all add up over a day!!
Driving through Maccas is better than going in - but if you took a chilled bottle of unsugared iced tea with you - yjat might be even better - maybe there is a quiet park you could stop in to have a few mins break too - and then get out and walk round the car as well!!
Wow - look what you will have swapped for Maccas then - and thayt doesn't count how good you will feel!!
