Gained back all the weight I lost previously. Started at 170 pounds on August 1st, 2008. Lost 20 pounds and today I'm back to the starting point weighing 170 pounds. Thank God I didn't go over. I have to stop lying to myself and actually commit to losing this weight for my health. My goal weight is 130 pounds but right now I'm committing to lose 10 percent of my total weight by March 1st, 2012 WHICH IS 1 POUND A WEEK. Today is the first day of creating a new me.

I have been hearing a lot about health food buffs who call themselves FLEXITARIANS. Today in the Healthy Lifestyle Guide, I read about how to feed a vegetarian and that also mentioned flexitarians. Flexitarians, from what I'm hearing and reading, benefit from the vegetarian-inspired diet that's low in cholesterol and saturated fat and high in fiber and antioxidants. I'm going to adopt the flexitarian diet which is rich in fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes and grains. Meat, seafood, dairy and eggs are eating sparingly. I have to revamp my eating habits to boost my good cholesterol so this way of eating can help me do that. Today is my first day of becoming a FLEXITARIAN.

Well, I call myself a flexatarian. I mostly eat vegetarian, but my husband never could . . . and I really don't want to cook 2 meals.

Today is my one year anniversary on spark and this happens to be my first blog entry. I have lost 12 pounds so far by joining and I'm really happy about that. I still have a lot of work to do to reach my goal. I have a lot of weight loss books and I read all the health magazines so I have convinced myself that I know a lot about weight loss. I TALK, TALK, and TALK ; I plan, consider and discuss what I should do to lose the weight and that makes me think I'm making progress. I think I'm working towards my goals when in fact I'm just spinning my wheels. I have to substitute action for all the talk and JUST DO IT. I know I can do it - one day at a time.
