No Carbs Part 2

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

A few months back I stated that I wanted to weight 159 before I leave on vacation, the time is slowly approaching.

So for the next two weeks I will cut carbs. I know it will get me to where I want to be if I stick with it. I will report my progress or regress daily through blogs. Wish me luck I will need it.

4/11/2011 less than 20 Carbs for the entire day, I'm also happy to report my calorie intake was also pretty good.

4/12/2011 almost halfway thought the day no carbs thus far ; ) (only 9.5 days to go)

Cut those carbs and keep moving... walk, walk, walk... it's a great formula for weight loss and toning.

Thanks for sharing!

But then you'll gain it right back when you eat carbs again. A better way to lose weight quickly is to cut red meat (if you eat it a lot.) Also cut anything to drink except water. Sans the bacon too and only eat pork no more than 1 x per week. You'll find that when you go back to trying to eat red meat, it won't taste as good and you'll want it less and less... since it has tons of saturated fat in it, you're better off eating less of it anyway.

Low carb diet is not good for your health in the long run and will only make you go backwards.

How do you know when you have made the change....

Tuesday, March 01, 2011

Everyone says that I want to change to a healthy lifestyle. But, for years I have asked myself when do you know if you changed.

Answer:
You know when you make the right decisions without thinking!

Beyond my expectations...

Monday, February 14, 2011

On yesterday I ran in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Mardi Gras marathon (my second half marathon), beating my previous time by 1m47s. This marathon is one of the biggest running events here in New Orleans; it gets lot of media coverage. I remember just a year ago seating on the sofa watching the news coverage of the marathon…thinking how great it would be to participate in that.
This year I ran in the
2011 ROCK N ROLL MARDI GRAS MARATHON
You would not believe the energy surrounding this marathon. I almost cried as I crossed the starting line. There were bands at every mile, spectators lined up alone the entire route. The energy was explosive and contagious.
I was so happy to be part of this event. Then while eating dinner, my husband (my biggest supporter) grabbed my finisher medal and said "My wife is a marathon runner, I'm so proud of you”
I will remember this day forever, or until I do the full marathon next year.

I didn't know if I should post this BLOG...

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

I didn't know if I should post this BLOG. I spoke to a friend and asked her what she thought and she encouraged me to do so, so here it goes. emoticon

Title
No New Year's Resolution for me.

This is the first time in my adult life; weight loss or going to the gym is not my New Year's Resolution. This pass year I have set goals knocked them out, so I set new and harder goals. So this year New Year's came and went and I didn't have to make a resolution of things I plan to start doing. I will just continue to...
1. Training for my 2nd Half marathon
2. search for the location of my 1st full marathon
3. eat right
4.go to the gym 5 times a week
5.look for a triathlon coach

OMG...Is this what change feels like?
