These past few weeks have been a bit complicated; I have had to improvise my training schedule. The week of Thanksgiving my family and I took a 7 day cruise. If you think the Thanksgiving Holiday is challenging multiply that my 168 (7 days time 24 hours a day = 168) hours of temptation. All types of Food, Desserts not to mention the pretty drinks. It was hard I gave in more often than not.
When I walked on the ship I was at my lowest weight ever. When I returned I was plus 10; I could only hope in comes off as quickly as it got on. With that being said; I made it to the gym 5 out of 7 days; 2 of the days I went twice.
Iíve been back now for 6 days and had a great workout week, the pounds are come off rather quickly. My marathon training is taking a beating but I plan to pick it up full swing when I return. Thatís right! Iím leaving again. In a few hours my favorite cousin and I are taking a 4 1/ 2 road trip to see my 22 year old daughter. I hope that Iím able to stay on trackÖ.

When is it safe to change your weight tracker?

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I have wanted to change my weight tracker for over two weeks. Iíve been hesitant cause in the past Iíve changed it and the weight returned.

I reached my weight goal of 159 while training for my 1st Marathon and have managed to keep it off; with an exception of a two pound swing every now and then. emoticon

Iím a very goal orientated individual so I set a new goal of 155; with the mine set of ďone day if Iím luckyĒ. emoticon

For the last two weeks or so I have maintain a steady weight of 157; with a few days at 155. I think itís due to my back to back events in October. emoticon

Not sure when my weight loss is official enough to change my tracker. emoticon

I weigh-in every Sunday.. and that is when I change it. Up or down... it is the weight I weigh at the time.

I change mine every time I weigh myself (if there's a difference). It keeps me accountable.

I came, ITRI and I Finished

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

On Sunday, October 23, 2012 at 7:30am I participated in my 2nd Olympic Triathlon. For those who do not know; In June 2012 I was timed out of the swim portion during my 1st Olympic Triathlon. So participating in this triathlon was emotional as well as physically challenging.

Race Day
The TRI was about 2 hours and 15 minutes from my house; so I decided to drive up the morning of. I arrived just in time. To my surprise the event had less than 150 participatesí. It was like Dťjŗ Vu, I was one of the last ones in the water again. There were only a few kayak and boats monitoring the swimmers, which made me very nervous. It was a wetsuit legal swim so I took some comfort in that. My goal was not to be last one out of the water. About 500 meters out I finally relaxed and tried to incorporate the tips my Coach and Husband gave. I completed the swim in 39 minutes, I was so happy. When I reached the transition area there were bikes still on the racks; I wasnít the last one out is all I could think of.

But when I got on my bike, I am literally the only one on the course; I didnít see or pass any cyclist until around the 6th or 7th miles then half way though I passed another one and then another one. Then It was time to finally run; I completed my run in 57 minutes.

Overall I was very delighted with my performanceÖI did not place nor did I come close. I usually finish most of my events in the upper 50%. This time I finished 109 out of 133 and couldnít be happier. Next Triathlon event IRONMAN New Orleans 70.3 in April 2013; wish me luck.

Sprint Triathlon

Sunday, October 07, 2012

Today I completed my third Sprint triathlon. Hereís the good and the bad. ..

1. It was cold (52 degrees) and I did not pack a wet suit. The day before it was 89 degrees
2. My swim time ranked dead last
3. In the last 100 yards I took in too much water; freaked out and had to take a kayak break.
4. I fell during the bike ride(HARD), skinned my left knee and my entire leg (all that wasnít covered by my TRI-shorts)
1. I finished 4th in my age group
2. My run average 8.48 per mile
3. I biked 18.9 mph
4. The event took place inside a beautiful neighborhood with very friendly residents.
5. I felt stronger in the water
6. My group of 5 received 2 awards

I registered for the TRI to help prepare for my Olympic TRI on the 21st. I didnít expect to enjoy myself as much as I did. I keep saying this butÖI love when thereís no pressure.
