Wow..talk about a break. I have been trying all this time..but not really getting anywhere...just losing and gaining ad nauseum....

So here I go again. This is getting funny actually.

My current weight is 183. My mini goal is 179. That is 4 pounds... I will get there when I get there. No pressure..but at least it is a goal.

I am finding if I eat too much fat, I gain weight. If I eat too many carbs I get cravings, eat lots and gain weight. I will try to curb my carb and fat intake. Try is the operative word. Succeed...now that is a better word. "Do or do not..there is no try!"

    Hi Marion,
We seem to be in a similar situation, except I have an art studio I never get into! Have you made any progress in the past month? I walked everyday for three years for an hour with a friend (and dogs) and never lost a pound. Doing the exercise and conscious eating (should I really put this cookie in my mouth?) has helped. I am just starting with SparkPeople, and I'm encouraged by the results and changes. Need some moral support? A nudge, a poke, other? We're here for you!

Day 6 of Calorie Streak

It is getting harder to keep on this streak, but I am doing it. I went to a wedding on Day 4 of the calorie streak and came through wonderfully. Yesterday, Day 5 was hard. I had an intense craving for corn chips but I didn't give in and because I didn't succumb, I felt great all day today. I have been averaging about 1200 calories per day; some days I had a bit more and some a bit less but never out of my Sparkpeople range. I lost another pound too, so I am 176. When I wandered away from Sparkpeople last time, I was down to 166. I sure hope I don't wander away again.

Here I am...still streaking! :) I lost another pound so am down to 177 pounds from 184 when I started. I am going to go to the beach later if it doesn't rain and will make sure I have another good calorie day. Things are starting to make sense to me....things I should have clued into a long time ago. I had a lifestyle change 4 years ago and developed depression and experienced inactivity and weight gain. Although I tried to get rid of the weight, I would fall off the wagon and gain more. Something is truly different this time. For one thing, the girls on the Lets Stay on Track II thread are real for me and seem to be going through the same thing I am and I feel we are all doing this together. Second, I am finding that I eat when I am bored. It is long and hard trying to lose weight when I am bored so just finding something fun to do helps. And I do mean fun. I don't think about food at all when I am having fun. Sometimes we fall into a rut and need to find something to add sparkle to our life. (Yes our husbands and children and jobs etc, add sparkle, but we need to play too). Here's to playing!

  


Starting a calorie streak-Day 1

My weight loss journey started at 184 pounds and will end January 18, 2008 at 130 pounds, this is day 11.

So far I have gone 9 1/2 days before I broke down and ate 2 pieces of homemade, fresh peach pie with lowfat icecream and one bowl of lowfat icecream with leftover peach filling. (But what a way to fall off the wagon!!!)

I can't eat sugar or wheat flour because these things make me feel awful after eating them. My goal is to be fit and healthy and not feel awful.

My friends on the Lets Stay on Track II thread have started a 10 day calorie streak starting Aug 1st. I will be joining them and eating between 1000 and 1400 calories per day, and not eating any sugar or wheat flour. (Did I mention that the girls on that thread are wonderful???)

Here we go...Onwards and Downwards!!!
